Well I have been digging through the available jobs and nothing right now is a fit. One lady had me fill out the application for Long term Disability and another told me she douv=bted I was eligible for that since I can still work. She said when I leave I will be put back on WC and they will then begin the process of retraining me or finding me another job. Meeting with attny on the 14th. Unless some miracle happens I am out of a job at the end of the month.

Well, that Super Bowl was pretty much a flop - I also had a super bowl flop this morning after eating all of that spicy food :D

Question for those involved with or have knowledge of the National Parks Service. Are they back up and operational? Wanting to book some lodging at Yellowstone in the early Fall but looking at the web site it only shows one lodge as being open.

    Name Open or Closed
    Canyon Lodge Closed
    Grant Village Lodge Closed
    Lake Hotel Closed
    Lake Lodge Closed
    Mammoth Hotel and Cabins Closed

Good evening folks. Not really looking forward to tomorrow, but the job has to be done.

There are 2 sites on a sewer line with a problem. The bottom section is about 110' long and when the higher elevation site dumped his rv tank it backed up to the lower rv site. After running a snake through the line we discovered the blockage is right at the end where it dumps in below a gray water dump and the top of a collection tank/ lift station. At this point we don't know what the blockage is, but it's tough enough to bend a root cutter. The sewer line is connected to the verticle pipe below the gray water dump with a fernco so the only way to disconnect it is loosen the fernco, cut the sewer line and pull it out....where all the heaviest concentration of sewage is. I've already exposed the underside of the gray water dump, about 6' of sewer line and the top of the tank. The only thing left is to do the dirty part. It's times like this that it's better to be the operator and not the guy in the hole.

The Park Service is open for business but I don't know their operations. I'd imagine they're like the rest of us and looking to see what's going to happen on the 15th. We're setting up to close because we just don't know what's going to happen. Having said that, we also have to plan like we're in normal ops. Your best bet is to go to their website or call the office that manages the area and tell them what you want to do.

Thanks, I'm going through the site. Can't really tell if the reservation info is up to date. Guess I'll give a call tomorrow.

We (our office) have been back to work since the 28th and we're all backed up. My seasonal and I have not been able to get back to what we were doing before thr furlough yet and probably won't for another week or 2. So I'm sure these other agencies are pretty much the same. Try giving them a call. That site may not be updated yet.

Shooting for mid to late September. Hoping most of the family vacations will be done by then.

You might check Yellowstone website for how to register for those. I know Forest service has a site called Recreation.org or com type in the place and see if it’s available

September is retiree, Aussie and Frenchie season. The week before labor day is good too. Some lodges in the park do close not long after labor day. But you should be able to make reservations for those still open then.

Many thanks. Wasn't sure if the website was being updated again. Only thing I've seen available in a somewhat reasonable price range has been the Old Faithful Lodge Cabins.

The lodges are all run by a private third party contractor so not affected by the shutdown. And theres plenty of places to stay just outside of the park as well in Cody, Gardiner, West Yellowstone, Island Park that offer more options and cheaper rates
Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need anything specific
