Hey all. First time post here for me. I just got this 2000 Prerunner and I want to put bigger tires on the stock 15" rims. I don't want to lift or mod the truck. What is the largest tire I can fit without any rubbing? Show me your pics! Thanks!!!IMG_1733.jpg

    I would think a 31/10.50r15 would work

I have 31x10.5r15LT with no lift. The last time I got new tires (on a different truck, I’ve only owned this for 6 months) the tire place told me the max size of tire they could put on my truck. Worth heading to a Discount Tire or something and asking

I have 30x9.5R15 and I can't go 31x10.5R15 because my rims are only 6 inch wide. Otherwise they would be my selection.

technically you can "fit" 32" tires in there (32x11.5x15) but you may not want to. the suspension looks like it has seen most of its life and may be worn out :(

depending on what engine and axle ratio you have it may kill the fun/power of the truck by going larger

look at the sticker inside your door jamb and tell us the axle code, also 4cyl or 6cyl engine

    this is for reference:

6" is the cheapest steel wheel you can get (and it must be me to have it :)). Most of 15inch wheels are 7 or 8 inch wide. It must be stamped somewhere on the wheel what they are.

I see you highlighted B03A on your sticker. Mine sticker also has B03A. This will help determine if I can put 30 or 31 tires? Sorry, but noob to any tires other than stock.

    On you sticker:

    upload_2019-2-5_12-31-43.jpg

If these are rims that you have now, they are 6 inch wide (same as I have) so nothing wider than 9.5 will not fit in there.

B03A is the axle code. That means you have 4.10's, which will be more than fine for 32's. That's what I have stock, and I run 32's. A lot of people run 33's with 4.10 gears.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/gear-ratio-confirmation-04-dc-4x4-trd-or.304549/

The problem is going to be that your tires will likely rub your frame in tight turns, or maybe parts of the fender well or front mud flaps.

I have 16" wheels with 265/75r16's which are like 31.9", at stock height they rubbed the frame behind the control arms in parking lots. It was annoying.

31x10.50r15s is a stock size. You will be fine with that size (almost) guaranteed.

Yes, that wheel and stock susp. can clear a 31/10.50/15 it's a stock size for TRD's of that age. May get the sides dirtier in muck though w/o wheel flares.

We really should compile some info. about tire sizes and make it handy to search for.

FWIW, I have the same factory wheels on 31x10.5x15s with no issues. Stock suspension as well with the same sagging ass lol

Here's info on how to fit various size wheels/tires - definitely worth a read, even if your lift is "0" inches (because really, with full compression, a lift doesn't change the size tire you can fit).

What size tires fit my lifted Tacoma? (and what kind of modification is needed)

Those alloy wheels you have are 15x7" rims (part number: 42611-04041 for 97-00 Tacomas). You can fit tires up to about 10.75" (or metric equivalent).
