Yep! It's pretty much a goPro replica and the included accessories fit perfectly in the Tacoma goPro mount. This also has "car mode" which starts the camera when the truck is turned on, and the cam turns off 2 minutes after the truck is shutoff. I'll upload a vid later on today, so you can see an example of how it looks and how the recorded video quality is. Pretty sure I have footage of my recent trip where I decided to do some light offroading.

Yeah this is also on my TD list. Are you getting this one?

So is it hardwired in? Just wondering how it knows how the vehicle is on/off. Does it automatically turn on if there is an impact when the vehicle is off? That's one of the main advantages to me

It needs to be plugged into the DC port with a Micro USB cable (it's not included with the device). So when the car has power, it triggers the camera to power on as well. It also has a battery too, so you can take it off the hardwire and use it like a normal go pro if needed. I believe car mode triggers the off and on process that makes it work like a normal dashcam. I ran the wires through the rubber door seals from the top right (near the goPro mount), down under the glove compartment and to a DC > USB Splitter for power.

I don't think impact is something that the camera detects. It does come with a remote that lets you stop the vid without having to touch the camera though. I guess that can be mounted and pressed whenever something happens. It's more like a video camera that has bonus basic dashcam abilities. I'd reccomend buying a true dashcam if impact and other complex features are desired.

I'll show an example vid of the wiring, camera, and some footage later on today as an example.

I believe so. It's like having a stronger ECT unit. It's not the same as the pedal commander add on.

But since you asked, here I go. Where is that soap box???

I think a lot of the issues related to complaints of lack of torque and excessive downshifting are related to what we were used to in our last truck (or whatever) and the time it takes to adjust (if you ever do) to a driving style that gets the most out of the engine.

I had a Porsche before the Tacoma. Imagine my surprise at the lack of power after putting 4 other grown ups in the truck. That's not something you will experience during a test drive with just you or maybe with your other.

Now, I hit the gas just a little harder on take off. The truck, with the help of SSP, takes off pretty well.

I downshift when entering or exiting a highway. The Taco has lots of power in third gear; and it seems to like to be reved up, base on the sound of the engine. Put it in 3rd upon entering a highway at 40 or even 50 mph, and that baby moves out! Rev it to 4 or 5000 rpm!

I don't believe that stuff about the transmission learning how you drive. Somebody show me the data on that, please. It's a matter of learning the best way to drive the truck to suit your needs.

It's called driving: the controlled operation and movement of a motor vehicle. We are responsible for the "control" part of the definition.

OK, I feel so much better. Thank you, thank you very much.
