Look into the many different brands of instant pots. Can cook like a crock pot, and much more. Be very careful of you wife being nice, it's a trap!

Pulled chicken thighs and molasses carmelizes onions. I highly recommend CaJohn’s products, picked some up at a hot sauce/salsa/bbq festival recently

Was catching up in here last night and got me wanting something from the crock pot. So I threw a chuck roast in there with a packet of au jus and ranch mix. Stick of butter and a sliced jalapeño. Be ready to eat this evening. Probably have some loaded mashed potatoes and some broccoli with cheese wiz on it.

Could decide on something to fix in here so I went with my own recipe that I knew I liked. Haha

    Starting out pic.

I hadn't either. The recipe came in the crockpot book.
Some whitefish, we used a little over a pound of cod, salt and peppered both sides. 4 slices of lemon on the bottom, then fish, then slices of lemon on top with chopped parsley. It said cook on high for 30 minutes but our fish cuts were thick so it took almost two hours. Really simple and easy. Turned out tasty!

I think I'm going to be doing more crockpotting than I've ever crockpotted before because I've got a longer commute these days. I feel like I need to psych myself into it. Chicken is about the only meat I'm alright with putting in the crockpot and even then I wish I were smoking or frying it.

Sure smoked or fried is good, but a good 'ol pot roast in the crock pot is good also! pork shoulder is another good one. Theres a lot of decent meals you can do in the crock pot...

See I can't do pot roast, the texture is just blah to me. Wife loves it though, I just eat the veggies when we have it.
