Truck won't turn over after trying to install mod

Not sure if you've check this, but do the brake lights come on when you hit the brakes? If acc works and next ignition on works (based on the check charging system) maybe something with the brake wiring/fuse when you tried to install the remote start.

 

Yep, fraud is the answer for sure.

 

Come on now.......dealers are the kings of playing dumb when you try to tell them what's going on. They are worried more about who is going to pay for it rather than solving a warranty problem.

 

True in some cases but it doesn't make it ok to be a liar and make fraudulent warranty claims.

 

It would help the dealer troubleshoot if they knew why the truck won’t start. The OP still needs to check with a multimeter.

 

Just read through all this. Seems really frustrating. OP did you get it fixed?

 

If OP's truck isn't unlocking the steering wheel, it's not even making it through half of the engine immobilizer protocols. If he'd answer the questions I've posted, we could narrow it down further.

12 Volt answers email virtually 24 hours a day and are very knowledgeable. They've "seen it all" after a ton of installs. This really shouldn't have been a problem past a few hours unless their behavior has changed for some reason.

 

^^This^^ I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I am starting to wonder if the OP was trolling 12-Volt Solutions from another company OR, the OP did something critically wrong prior to the install and is trying to place some blame on 12-Volt Solutions. I have this system and it took longer to zip tie the wires than to install the kit. I hope I am wrong and the OP just got busy to report back what happened.

Long time reader decided to make an account to help out with this issue. This happened to me last year installing the 12volt remote start kit on my 2017 Tacoma. My steering wheel wouldn't move and the truck wouldn't start. It ended up being the [Strg Lock 20a fuse].

 

that one is located in front of your left knee

 

makes sense, probably a blown fuse like most people responding suggested

I hope that is the case. I assume the OP just got busy and didn’t revert back what the fix was.

OP didn't have a Multimeter. I think the problem could be fixed with a new fuse. But he is not responding so we might never know.
