My dad has been a cattle rancher for 30+ years and bitches about all his trucks he's ever had in the last 20 years, 96 F250 was a workhorse but needed the tranny rebuilt and it was a guzzler, he trashed his 88 chevy W/T and sold it for $1k. His 04 F150 motor died at 120k miles and had to get a different motor, his current 06 silverado 2500 has almost 300k miles but it keeps on going because the previous owners were meticulous about maintenance and it was only used to haul pipe around a yard in Pasadena. I continually tell him to get a Tundra and be done with it! His excuse is that he would have to drive 40 minutes to Bastrop for service...

Had. Sold it to my mechanic for more than it was worth* so he could fix it up for his about-to-turn-16 daughter.

It was going to cost too much for me to repair and since he’s doing the work himself, we both won.
