I’m not seeing how loosening the front diff and rotating it is going to help. Jacking up the trans makes sense to get some more clearance though. Which way did you slide the actuator out? Straight back over the top on the rack & pinion? Can i get the clearance by just jacking up the trans a hair? (Typing this while laying on the garage floor under my 03; do I get style point?)

@Sub-Zero and @sente3 messed with the actuator on the truck iirc.

Can always just rip the whole tube off the diff.

I’ll be at Stony on March 1 to pick up my daughter. Probably easier to hand off your awning screen and grab my boot kit then.

Edit: Hey JC- might be going to Stony Brook this Sunday as well.

@sente3 has been a HUGE help. I ended up getting it out by slipping it out the front. motor end first then sort of turning it and sliding the for end out of the space between the cross member and the differential.

Anyone have any recent shock rebuilding experience?

Down south Motorsports rebuilt my coil overs a couple of years ago. I have a set of rear fox remote resi shocks that need to be rebuilt. Just curious if anyone has used anyone else. Fox has a service but the website doesn’t behave well on my phone and seems way more complicated than it should be. Someone more local than Southern California would be nice too.

I was originally looking into that. Seems like you need some specialty tools that would likely cost more than just paying to have them professionally rebuilt.

    Thanks

It's usually not a big deal, just need the parts kit for the shock.

Plus shock oil and a nitrogen tank and whatever specialty tools.. right?

I actually need to pull my bike out of the shed and take a look at why it’s leaking coolant.
