I’ve got a CB setup on the truck and a handheld ham radio. If enough people have FRS/GMRS I’ll pick one up before the trip.

I'm going to order a handheld CB radio and a Rhino mesh basket for the tent on Friday. After that its meal planning, sorting out tools (i need to just buy a dedicated kit to keep in the xterra) and finalizing who is riding w/ me. I might have 1,2 or 0 passengers!

Now I just need the next couple weeks to hurry up and go bye.

It's going to be a hectic time getting ready for this trip. I'm going to Death Valley the weekend before this, then I'll be home for only 2 days before this trip. Going to be a fun couple of weeks :D

Getting close guys! Looks like @OmegaMan73 can make it too! So once he chimes in we can add him to the list! So looks like (3) Phoenix guys so far.

I am super stoked and ready to rock! I have HAM and CB, tuning my antenna in S. Phoenix on Wednesday night for those who need to tune! PM me for directions and time. This will be a fun, easy trip with wide roads and some cool spots to see AZ in all her glory! I already super excited to plan for the latter half! FR 203 Cherry creek is fun! The top portion is the funnest!

Where we Phoenix guys meeting at up here?

I'm down to meet up and caravan down.

If you guys wanna make the morning drive an adventure we could take the 87 to the 79 to the 77 and into Tucson. I'm not sure if its worth is though because of the added drive time.

I took thursday off to prep. My ol' man is coming w/ me though, I'm not sure what time he will be able to leave. Let me find out, he may be able to get moving early.

Those highways aren't gonna be added dirt but they're more scenic than the 10.

We should definitely try to make it to Aztec Peak if everybody wants to see some incredible views and a fun road. Has plenty of campsites. Would make for a great final campsite to tie off the trip.

I'm off all day Thursday as well, so wherever y'all plan to meet I'm sure I can make it as long as I know ahead of time. It's about a 5 hour drive for me to Phoenix.

Yea buddy! Awesome views for sure...I hunted peccary around Aravaipa Canyon for over 15 years now love that area! My father lived in Oro Valley for years.

Let myself and @PcBuilder14 know what time you were thinking so he can get started on his extra drive. I will be ready to by 3pm Thursday to break out! Even earlier if need be!

Hell ya! While the kids are at Disneyland with Grandma....Daddy shall cross another line off the list! Done!

Anybody planning on airing down for the dirt portions? I'm torn because we are going to transition from dirt to pavement a lot. I just don't want to be running hwy pressure if theres lots of washboard but I only get ~5 fill ups on my tires from my Co2 tank

Would be a good idea to air down from Montezuma pass up until you hit pavement again near Canelo The road down towards parker canyon lake is decent enough to go fast due to all the border patrol traffic but still washboard enough that airing down would be a big help. It is a decently long stretch so worth the use of a fill up would be good. You have about 16-17 miles of pavement before hitting the nearest service station. I do not know if they have air there though just overpriced gas and a little market store. I do not recall seeing an air station back in Oct.

If you're coming in from Sierra Vista there is a visitors center for the Coronado natl monument 31°20'45.7"N 110°15'13.7"W this would be a good place to stop and air down the dirt. You're about 1.5 miles until the dirt starts and there will be no other spots to stop for a few miles until you hit montezuma pass.
