For the grille bezel, I used a few coats of plastidip and then used clear acrylic sealer.
For the rear corner bumpers, I bought these from eBay and they fit perfectly. Obviously had to remove the chrome corners first.
Any recommendations on blacked out emblems? I would prefer not to paint mine. The ones I see on Amazon are not OEM. tacoma black.jpg

For the badges, just take them off.

You need this to be completely done:

I prefer not to pull them off and paint them. I would rather spend a few bucks and have them already blacked out. And the adhesive wouldn't be compromised either.

I was saying to just get rid of them altogether.

If you wand them black, PlastiDip is probably the easiest?

If you already did dip on the grille, why is it not obvious to dip the badges too? o_O

    Looks rad @Swingman06
I've done similar blacking out as I wasn't a fan of the chrome on my SR5.

If you don’t want to paint yours because you may want to return it to stock someday, I’ll send you my oem sr5, 4x4 and v6 badges and you can paint them and put them on, retaining your stock ones. PM me your address if you want them and I’ll send them your way... they are of no use to me.

In my opinion, plastidip is the way to go since its removable and you can dip the badges without removing them from the truck. To each his own though.

I dipped my badges op. Masked off a decent area around the emblem, sprayed 4 or 5 thin coats, and peeled. It broke around the letters almost perfectly. I spent 6 bucks.

He's already dipped his grill surround, has decided for whatever reason he doesnt want to dip the badges. FWIW I saw the overlay package installed today, barely legible and to me doesnt look good.

Best bet is to either paint originals or install matte black replacements..

Thank you for the offer! I found the badges already in black for a decent price so I will go that route. Again, thank you so much!

I don't trust dipping the badges while leaving them on the truck. And I don't want to compromise the adhesive by taking them off, dipping them, and then reapplying. Someone else posted a blacked out badge set which I will go with.
