Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

It's not that. I have the ECGS and shims and the vibe is just a certain spot in the rpms and the revolutions of the front CV axles, or the exhaust notes. A concentric pulsing vibe that is very very faint shows up at exactly 39-40mph and can only be felt on the top of the steering wheel. Each tune its either there, not there, less pronounced, or more pronounced

 

my truck is great on the highway (as was my other 3g tacoma). I don't know what everyone's issue is. I must have gotten lucky and gotten the truck that wasn't assembled on Friday afternoon or something.

 

Nope. Have inspected and confirmed this isn't it. It's engine/exhaust related for certain. no needle bearing issues on my stock height taco... believe me, I went down that rat hole hoping that would be the issue. it isn't

 

WebMD says that those are symptoms of marriage, not the tune.

Both the tune and the truck itself are listed under remedies for marriage, though...

 

yeah, I'm eyeing the 2020s. plus I want to upgrade while they keep in the current gen anyhow so my mods will port over easily without having to shell out thousands again to get my utility upgrades in place. that conversation with the wife will be fun given I told her that if I bought this nearly $40k truck I wouldn't buy anything else for minimum of 10 yrs

It's the exhaust. I didn't like the exhaust drone that accompanied the vibes. I had a couple of helmholtz resonators made and it's taken care of much of it.

So.....had this happen today
After reading about un-hooking the battery, I decided last night to go ahead and give it a shot...
After filling up this evening, noticed my ETA mileage was 100 miles MORE than averaged. After a drive through come home traffic, roughly 15 miles, this is what it was reading...
I haven't had this since it was bone stock. I even saw some 20.4-5 #'s...

Well if you have super conservative driving right after the batt unplug it will read beautiful numbers. Around half a tank the numbers average out more realistic, but I agree, it is fun to see those high double digits

 

Call me weird but I get down right excited when I see mid 20s when I’m cruising on the highway
