I liked some things about the Colorado it drives nice and it can scoot when you want it too. I like how they described the interior as play skool in the Colorado. That was pretty much a big factor for me. It felt like a rental car. The parking brake as a pedal was annoying too. I test drove the GMC Canyon and the interior looked a little nicer, but the 8 speed was horrible combined with dropping cylinders all the time you could feel the power drop off. Also the canyon was from a hertz rental fleet and the infotainment screen was flashing out every time I went over a bump.

I still like the Tacoma best, but it’s nice there’s some competition to get Toyota to stay on top of their game. There are some nice features in the other lines especially the Ridgeline. Toyota shouldn’t get too complacent.

Railing against the Tacoma and it's high rpm peak hp @6000 rpm, while praising gm with it's 800 rpm higher peak hp @6800 rpm is confusing. It also kind of casts a doubt on the review.

I take that back, there's no doubt about it.

I stopped reading at Farm Animals. Credibility done.

With 50,000 homeless in the streets of Los Angeles. Abused children......................... We have a long way to go before FARM animals are a concern. Animals care givers take a number.

    Focus more on humanity.

If the Tacoma was so bad they wouldn't be selling at $15,000 dealership markups lol

Something that doesn't seem to get mentioned much (or at all) is the Tacoma AT shifter. I love it! I know that isn't usually anything to get excited over, but I love how short and stubby it is. It is really compact and seems to blend in really well with the console. I like the 'stair step' motion as well (not sure what you call that). Incredibly quick and easy to switch between park/reverse/drive, etc...

I know AT shifters only get used twice per trip, but I really like the one in the Tacoma and it still adds a lot to the whole experience in my opinion, especially when you are running errands and hopping in/out of the truck all day.

Maybe it is because I've driven manual vehicles for the past 15+ years (the Tacoma is my first AT) and I really pay attention to the tactile feel of whatever my right hand is doing, even if it is just for 2 seconds while using an AT to shift from reverse to drive. I dunno, as dumb as it sounds, the AT shifter on the Tacoma just has a really nice look and feel to it.

Well over 6' and fit just fine. Stops fine, transmission and engine seem ok in mine with the exception of a little of the 1800-2500 vibration at certain temps. Drove a couple other vehicles today and really missed the feel of my Tacoma. They need to test these trucks again at 200k and see which ones still show up for the test...

I'd still take a Frontier over any of that other shit. Pro 4Xs are nice rides.

Ha, yeah the '200k test' is one of the main reasons I got the Tacoma. I've driven tiny little compact cars for the past 15 years, but now that I have a 'do it all' type of vehicle, there isn't any reason for me not to drive this thing for hundreds of thousands of miles. It will do anything I will ever need it to, so I want it to last.

I wonder what the average length of ownership will be on all of the trucks mentioned will be. I assume the Tacoma will easily lead the pack

An actual real farmer could easily get more than 5 bales of hay on the bed of any of those trucks and could get more farm work done by 9:00 than they did all day.
