Not yet. I have informed my vendor of a parts list of what is needed and he is going over it with his company to see what they can do for us. Hopefully I’ll hear back from him this week.

Alright folks, here is a sneak peak of what I have been able to come up with this weekend in my spare time between going out riding with some friends in my RZR and the Super Bowl Party today.

Temporary Puddle Light until ME-SO Customs releases “THE” Puddle Light.

    9AF70611-DB99-474F-B15B-D55CC2912478.jpg

OEM look when the Cover is on. I do not have this cover snapped on as I do not plan on using the Chrome Cover. I may get some Black Vinyl and wrap it to see what it looks like wrapped, but I will for sure have my Barcelona Red Cover when I get my truck back from Toyota.

    F7DE8DD6-5BFC-45F1-8DE2-39F1FF41295A.jpg

I’m waiting to connect the hinge and mirror until the last part. Just makes it easier. Next up is installing the camera into the hinge cover location. That area just seems like the best place. When ME-SO finally comes out with his Puddle Lights, I may have to reconfigure this setup or I might just leave it if I absolutely love how it is. For now, this set up is going to work. :)

The Puddle Light is Switchback. I have it tapped into the DRL White and Pink Wires so when I use my Blinker, it will flash Amber on the Ground like my Turn Signal in the Mirror. This way if there is a car right beside me, but not far enough up to see my Turn Signal in my Mirror or Headlights, they will see it flashing on the ground. Total awareness is key. The White Wire I will run inside the truck and tap into the Dome Light somewhere. I haven’t decided where. Either the A pillar or I will tap into my side LED Strip Lighting that already comes on under my truck with my Dome Light as Courtesy Lights. My current Courtesy Lights do everything other than fade in and out. When I get close to the truck they come on. When I lock they shut off. When I unlock they turn on.

My Turn Signal is now RGB so it will match my Headlights and Raptor Lights in my Grill at all times but still have the Amber Switchback for when my Blinker is on. It has its own wire harness that will plug into my XBT Bluetooth Controller. When I turn on my ignition it will come on White, but then I can connect to Bluetooth and change the color to whatever color I would like on the color wheel. Usually it is White, Amber, or Red. When I turn on my Blinker, Amber will cut in from being tapped into my Headlight Turn Signal. When my Blinker goes off, my Mirror Turn Signal will go back to the RGB color I had programmed.

This week I will be working on the first few posts with the write ups and pics. While also continuing with this build at the same time. I just wanted to give everyone a little glimpse of the OEM Mirror with the Power Folding Motor located inside our Mirrors. It is really happening!! :bananadance:

Received word from Toyota that my Part for my Truck is Scheduled to be in now on the 11th with all the Winter Weather going around. Ugh. Looks like I have another Week or so to wait to install these bad boyz in my Truck.

I’m currently working on the possibility of getting a custom piece made though for this build for everyone so that the only thing people will have to purchase in a Kit is the following: Custom Part to hold the Motor, the Motor, and then the Wiring. After that, everyone should be able to install these into their OEM Mirrors or they can send them to me to install. My fingers are crossed that it will work. If not, it will just take a few extra parts ;) You will obviously still need the Power Fold/Retracting Switch.

Ok so in a standard OEM Heated Mirror w/ BSM you have a total of 10 in the Wire Harness:

    Red - Adjuster
    Red - Adjuster
    Brown - Adjuster
    Purple - Adjuster
    White - Turn Signal
    Pink - Turn Signal
    Black (+) - Heater
    Black (-) - Heater
    Green w/ Yellow (-) - BSM
    Green w/ Black (+) - BSM

When you get down to the connector you are down to 8 Wires out of those 10. The two Red Wires are joined together and the Green w/ Yellow and Black Wire are joined together in the middle of the Wire Harness.

For my own personal OEM Mirrors, I do not have BSM because I opted out of that option as I felt it was a waste of money personally. Therefore, I have one negative wire and one blank wire that is already wired through the wire harness for me that are open. I also did not use the White or Pink Wires for my Turn Signal as my Turn Signal is Wired through its own harness now and will be ran along side the other wire harness through the “rabbit hole” and into the Engine Bay where it will connect to my XBT Bluetooth Controller and tap into my Turn Signal there. That opened up my White and Pink Wire. Therefore, I used the Pink and White Wires to connect my Switchback Puddle Lights to in place of my Turn Signal. I wanted my Puddle Lights to have the option of lighting up the ground Amber on the side I will be getting over on or turning towards; while also having the Courtesy Light Feature my LED Strips have that are mounted under the Sides of my Truck. The driver from my Puddle Lights has three Wires: Black, White, and Orange. I tapped the Orange into the open Pink, the Black into the Open White, and I will tap my White into my open Green w/ Black BSM Wire. Therefore, the only thing new so far is the one Wire Harness that will be running along side the regular one.

Now I will be using the Hilux Wiring Harness instead of the OEM just because I really do not feel a need to make connections inside the mirror when the wire harness is long enough to get you inside the door panel where you have a lot more room. With that said, the Blue and Green Motor Wires are also pre-wired through the Wire Harness so I will not have to run any additional wiring for that either which is nice. Therefore, in my standard OEM Heated Mirrors, I will have a total of 12 in the Wire Harness:

    Red - Adjuster
    Red - Adjuster
    Brown - Adjuster
    Purple - Adjuster
    White - Puddle Light Switchback
    Pink - Puddle Light Switchback
    Black (+) - Heater
    Black (-) - Heater
Green w/ Yellow (-) - [Not Connected to Anything Inside the Mirror]
Green w/ Black (+) - Puddle Light Courtesy Light
    Blue - Power Folding Motor
    Green - Power Folding Motor

When you get down to the connector I will have 10 Wires out of those 12 as the same 4 Wires are still joined together. The connector has 12 terminals so I technically will have 2 more that I will be able to use later on if needed. As for my Camera, it has its own Wire Harness as well. It will run one on small Black wire along Side my other two Wire Harnesses. However, the Camera Wire will only join the other Wire Harnesses under the Hinge area before going through into the Door Panel.

I apologize if you mentioned this already, but do the hilux/fortuner mirrors bolt up to our trucks? Would save a lot of work if they did.

No they do not. Their hinge that bolts to the door, the wiring harness connector / rubber grommet, and the plastic cover under the hinge is all completely different. If you purchase the Hilux/Fortuner Mirrors, those are all parts that you would need to keep from your OEM Mirrors. When I post the next updates of my build you will see the similarities, but yet differences.

A little update, I am working on getting a custom drawing made by my cousin who is a professional designer in 3D/AudoCad and all of that Business of the special piece that is part of the hinge and holds the motor. Once I get her both parts, the OEM part and the Hilux Part that holds the Motor, she is going to look them both over and see what all she can do. I have asked for her to take the motor half of the Hilux and the Adjuster Motor Half of our OEM. If this is possible for her to do, this will solve all of our problems flat out. Talk about Plug & Play. Then I have asked one of my favorites to help me out with getting this special piece printed which is a GO! This one part will allow you to remove your current hinge, replace it with this piece, set in the motor, run the two extra wires, bolt it to the OEM Hinge, and then connect it back to your door. Done! That is all that will be needed! So, my fingers are crossed that this all plays out how I have it planned so I can get this kickass kit together for you guys!
