I already had LT and 35s. I just tweaked my alignment a bit and the 37s fit on no problem. Hammer the pinch weld flat, and cut the body mount is all I really had to do to fit the 35s

Sorry my sarcasm font must not have made its way through. Marlin has been known to be out of stock for damn near everything in the last few years. I'd be surprised to see a new product make it out for sale let alone one of their older ones come back in stock.

Oh yeah I’m dense. No experience with anything crawler related. My 05 is actually my first 4x4 vehicle so I’m not into anything serious.

But I’m starting to get real interested in some of the 70’s and 80’s solid axle trucks. And those 2nd Gen’s look like a lot of fun too. I’d call it a truggy, idk about you.

I should just buy a wheeler.

If you're going to hack up a truck to wheel, I'd recommend an older truck they are cheaper and easier to build and are better suited for the trails. I've got an 87 4Runner I've been trying to get going for the last 2 years, maybe one day it'll see the trails again.

I used 26 gauge on the firewall and tub but did the battery mount in 20 gauge. The only bad thing about 26 is it's really hard to weld. It burns through easy so you gotta weld on low heat and it just takes longer. You could do 24 or 22 but it gets much harder to form. I was afraid 26 would be too thin but once I started forming it and getting a bow in it, it seems just fine to me then after the rubber coating, I can't tell at all how thin it is. Even kicking the firewall from inside the truck, it seems plenty strong to me.

As for how much. I think the sheets I got from Home Depot were 24" x 16" and I used 3 per side plus 1, 20 gauge sheet for the battery mount. Here are a few more pics where you can see a little bit of the construction.

Bro, I'm following your build.... Yes it is!!! Haha!!! I been told my lil 1" body-lift may also help?? Looking at your work tho, that 1" seems unjustifyable??

Damn dude. I know that wasnt easy. Hell I tried a piece of 20 at first and said fuck that. Just forming a bow in the sheet is hard enough let alone having to beat it in place and make it look good. The 26 is pretty easy as far as forming goes
