hahaha dude I know how you feel. I was able to break them loose but check out this video. This is what I meant. My only options are cutting the hard line and re flaring it or just replacing the hardline. Which is what I want to do. But havent checked it out to see what kind of a pain in the ass it would be.

I’ve only used the rpm calculator on the tire size calculator on here, and now that you mention it I don’t think there’s a way to differentiate between auto or manual.

Yea I’ve been on a scale twice, once on my cross country trip and once locally around town not leaving on a trip. Both times just under 2000lbs going off of the 5600 GVW. I keep all my gear on the truck at the grocery story and leaving the state on a trip. I love the truck grab and go. I can be home for a few months but keep the RTT on all the time. The weight combined with 34s make 4.88s sound best for my setup.

And Steve and I discussed the RPM calculator vvvv

I do like vise grips but if they slip they mangle whatever they’re holding

Cool. Well good luck with them.

I have to send my 3rd back to ecgs to have an arb seal replaced.. chase said it’s a common problem on the rd129 locker. Hopefully the new version of the seal is the fix.

I thought I was going to have to put a Union in the hardline thinking bout cutting the flare nut and the line continued down the frame rail. Luckily walking away and coming back to it allowed time for the PB blaster to set in..

Dude not sure if you plan on it soon but Matt my sales rep said I’m looking at a 2-2.5 week build time. Than shortly lead times will go 4-6 weeks with everyone placing orders with tax monies.

Yea the calculator at grimmjeeper is super in-depth. It’s pretty cool and it already has most common transmissions and transfercases already loaded in there in a drop down menu

Chase said whenever I send it down he’ll get it back out within a day or 2. He even offered to build a new 3rd with gears and locker and send it to me and I just send back my current one. Thought that was pretty generous of him.

Ain’t nothing quick about swapping out your 3rd and front clamshell. I’d imagine having it on the lift will make it a lot faster than working in the driveway though.

If you do it when I’m on my weekend I’ll probably be in Vermont.

Yea last time I looked at it it was over my head.

Jay, whenever you go to swap in the rear third, instead of disconnecting the hard brake lines, just unbolt it from the axle at all points. It gives you enough slack to pull out the axle and stick a 2x4 in there to hold it out, so you can remove the 3rd. Just saves a little time so you don’t have to bleed the brakes when you’re done.

You may have already known this but thought I’d share. I wish I knew this when I took my 3rd out.

I’m not but I pulled my third to install my lunchbox locker. The rear third is a piece of cake to remove. Never tried the front.

After picking up the recovery ring I knew I wanted a specific soft shackle to pair with it. Just picked up some 1/2” dyneema line and made a specific 14” soft shackle

    3/8 line to 1/2 line

It's a snatch block for synthetic line. The company who makes them explain it better on why regular snatch blocks aren't ideal, but that's the gist of it.

Is the ring supposed to rotate or is the line just supposed to slide around it?
