Yes, I know what you mean. I can push the clutch in about an inch and the chirping disappears.

 

So the chirping sound doesn't mean that I need throw out bearings? I remember it chirping for a few years, before the slave cylinder went out. No clutch slippage at all, just that annoying band of crickets playing when I put the gearshifter in neutral!

 

No the chirping sound is the throw out bearing but from everything I read the seal on that bearing is weak and develops a crack in it thus producing the chirping sound. My 05 started to pop itself out of 4th gear at times especially climbing bigger hills so that motivated me to get it fixed quicker although neither of the 2 issues (chirping sound and popping out of gear) were related to each other.

Definitly not All-Pro. They were having serious issues with their leafs and believe they got suspended from TW.

 

I'm in the same boat as you Mark. I plan on doing a mild lift and going next size tire up, so I've been doing lots of reading and figuring out what I want to do with my truck when the time comes. Nothing crazy for sure as it will still be a daily driver, kid getter, but still want a little more advantage over stock, for when I do take it onto the trails!

 

I still have my brand new 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer spare if anybody is in the market...
