Also if anyone buys this, along with taking pictures/scanning the directions... could you also send a picture of the
Why did you cut the slit all the way across, instead of lying the bar across the heat element and only cutting away the areas where the hog rings have to go?

I don't want the bar rubbing through and becoming part of the heating element.
You can cut the pad as I have, don't cut it lengthwise though.

Anyone have the issue where the lights on the buttons turn on, but the heated seats don’t seem to be getting warm?

Yes. The switches are junk. I asked them for new ones. I also bought high quality oem ones but need to cut and splice wires to make that work.

Maybe a dumb questions. If I am installing on top of my OEM cloth and putting covers over them should I still cut the slot for the horizontal bar?

Good question. Probably not a must do as the rod wont have any contact. Love my heated seats. 18* this morning here.

That is is what I was thinking, no chance of element on metal. 18* doesn't sound fun! It was in the 30's last week but back into the 60-70's this week.

No you don't have to cut at all if you're putting them on top of the factory upholstery.

Just be gentle with the besond switches. One of mine broke after two days. Besond promptly sent replacements though. I'm still trying to convert to the oem toyota switches. Wiring guessing game.

First, thanks to Yote for the detailed instructions. I'm half-way through my install -- I have the heating elements installed in the seats but haven't tackled the wiring yet.

I wanted to add to this thread that the passenger seat in my '14 AC folds down into a work surface; that complicated things a bit. The seat was a bit more difficult to disassemble to start with. The biggie, though, was there wasn't enough cable length on the heating pad to run it through the seat back hinge so it would be hidden (where the air bag cable runs). I ended up poking it through the center of the bottom of the seat back and back into the cushion which left a loop of wire sticking out behind the seat. It looks a bit funky but is at least functional. In retrospect, if you have this seat, I'd recommend lengthening the cable on the heating element so it can be routed with the air bag cable. It would look a lot better and be protected from getting caught on anything in the back.

I bought this seat heater kit 6 years ago when I bought the truck. I finally installed it today, talk about procrastinating. It was easier than I thought and wish I would have done it years ago.

I don't know if they still make these kits, but one thing of note. When I got it all wired up and did my first test, the backlight on the passenger switch came on with the ignition and the power relay came on when I turned my headlights/tailights on. After checking all my work and making sure all the wire pins were in the same location on each harness, I was stumped.

I ended up taking apart both relay boxes and saw that one was soldered different than the other, obviously someone in China wasn't paying attention to QC. I changed the pins in the switch plug and all is well. Just a heads up if anybody is installing this kit and has the same problem.

    :ohsnap:

Nice that you got it figured out and fixed.
By far the best mod I've done to this truck.
Enjoy the future swampazz from leaving them on to long!:rofl:

    Edit:
I need to run the seat heater pad itself through a switch so I can turn it off and leave the back on.
