my next project, inverter install, need some part numbers

    I'm looking at putting a factory inverter in my truck. Some part numbers are easy like the inverter, switch, bed outlet and storage bin. Some are a little harder, like the harness.

    Would someone know the part number on this tag and is it the complete harness minus the wiring to the dash?

    Why not adapt the bed outlet to a better inverter than the factory and hook that to a switch in the dash like the factory one?

    The factory inverter is more than enough for what I need, plus it's out of the way under the center console.

    I've looked and didn't see anything. Weren't the inverters only available on ext. and dual cabs?

    Not really 100% sure on that. I do know they hide the connectors in tape, foam and tucked behind wire looms, sometimes inside the blank switch covers. But if the vehicle didn't have it, especially in the engine compartment, I don't see it being hidden. You'd be missing the connector n wire to the relay, the relay and the fuse. For the relay you'd be missing the green IGN wire also. Have you opened the cab console for the harness to the inverter?

    OK, just seems like a lot of monkey moo to wire in so that it's crippled to 100 watts while driving, when you could wire in an aftermarket inverter with 2 cables, and 2 wires for a remote turn on switch and have 400 watts (or more) anytime you want. I know you can do the 400watt anytime mod, but, put in all that wiring and then disable it? I can understand the pride in being able to say, "I installed the OEM inverter myself", but that's like saying, "Check it out, I installed ceiling heat in my house."

    having the inverter in my truck, owning my truck for 5 years I can tell you with confidence i have used it exactly twice. Once to pump up someone elses air mattress, and another time to charge a laptop. I do a decent amount of camping and have found it so much easier to have appliances, lights etc just be 12v. My 12v always on bed socket gets used WAAAAY more than the inverter. And a lil propane stove to do heating of things including coffee

    That stated i get it, its nice to have a feature when needed.

    That also stated, do yourself a favor, run a nice thick 10awg minimum fused 12v positive from the battery back to the bed down the driver side frame rail, put a 12v socket in a bed pocket on that side. You will use a 12v always on bed socket WAY more than the inverter, then get an inverter that can plug into a 12v socket, walla, best of all worlds, cheaper, easier and more functional (as you can move the inverter inside if needed)

    I was looking at the Keurig K15, don't know what the draw is.

    edit, says max consumption = 1500 watts

    Guess I won't use the outlet for the coffee maker, I'll still be able to charge batteries and if I really need a coffee maker, I'll add a "better" inverter. The coffee maker was just a nice add-on.

    I already have the factory inverter and I have used it for charging batteries and soldering wires on the back of the truck. I decided a while back that I wanted to be able to make Keurig coffee on the tailgate. I went all in with an Aims 2000 watt pure sign inverter. It will do 4000 watts surge. I decided I want to be able to run anything that you can plug into a 110 outlet. A skillsaw, a microwave, a Keurig, and maybe even a 110 wire welder. So far I'm about $800 into that cup of coffee for the inverter, cables, X2 battery, weatherproof outlet, etc. I'm just about to start installing things. I originally guessed that the inverter would fit under the drivers seat. Nope. Oh well, I never haul people in the back of the access cab. It just barely fits on the floor under the fold forward seat.
