I thought that people who had movement of water (leaks) in their campers were just closing them wrong?

Strange to go through that much work with redesigning for operator error.

I have no leaks in the area that has changed. Some have. This might make it easier and more reproducible to manufacture with no leak issues.

Just because something “works” does not mean it is best practice engineering wise.

I don’t get how closing wrong has anything to do with this one?

it has been said that people closing their tents up wrong, with the platforms placed incorrectly, is causing water intrusion.

That would be different way of water entry. If closed with rear panels out, water can flow downhill in.

Unrelated, I finally requested my striker plates and installed them. Makes a more solid seal. I didn’t have leak issues, but the latches were scratching the frame.

Where is the entry point for the water leakage created by leaving the rear bed panel out?

This only affects things when the tent is closed. I have never left out the rear panel in the rain and closed the tent so have not had it happen to me.

Someone else on here had it happen to them and posted about it. Graeme clarified the rear panel in place would prevent this method of intrusion.

I can guess, but don’t want to spread incorrect info.

Just had mine installed and between the upgrades they did and the "new" way to close the tent; they claimed to have fixed all the large water intrusions. Looks pretty solid. The "new" way is to leave the squares out during closing and move the rear panel to the back of the camper with the cushion in place; it makes for a stiffer close, but definitely looks water tight. We'll see...I have all winter of rain/snow/ice to test it out.

Did the water get into the cargo area? or the actual tent/sleeping area?

They’re really saying to leave the squares out?

I was thinking the same thing. I would rather see them make the cushions a but thinner.

They’re supposedly testing the 2” thick mattress used in their rtts

I want to say both. But I wouldn't know personally. Just got it a few hours ago and been working since then.

Yup. That was verbatim on how to close the tent portion from Mike the install guy (awesome fellow btw). Found it to be odd, but I don't have windows so I can care less if it hangs or not; this way works for me.

This is disappointing. I do not want to have to remove cushions to close the tent.

I am with you there. Removing them means you have to store them somewhere and bed real estate is already pretty limited with my short bed taco.

Talking with Graeme about it when I picked mine up leaving the cushions out was a recommendation for closing up the tent faster. It is possible to close with the cushions in place it just takes a bit longer to let the air escape.

Same here. Plus then you need a "clean" place to store them.
