DOH! One of the added benefits of living farther South, I guess -- no salt on the roads, and it's warm enough here to wash the truck every other weekend.

I do have a road trip to NJ this week, though... thank gawd for Liquid Film!

I have a 2018 Fuel Ex 9.9 with knock block and that works just fine over the tail gate with my RaceFace pad. DCSB with OEM tonneau cover is a problem though for all but extra small bikes; not enough clearance for rear wheel. My wife's small TopFuel is about 2" too long, mine is like 7" too long. I have to remove the cover to haul bikes. But when we do, we can haul four over the tailgate without a problem.

I went to Buffalo Creek near Pine. One of my favorite places to ride. Conditions weren't great. There was a lot of ice.

I have a Dakine DLX pad, the tie down straps should be set just around the back of the tailgate instead of on top.

You're right, that's the way it's designed, but I can't use my backup camera with it like that because the flap hole wouldn't line up. It works fine this way.

    I've got a bike set-up question.
I'm pretty much set on purchasing the Bakflip MX4 when the next group buy is announced.
I like to use my Rocky Mounts with my bikes. I'm kinda digging the RollBak too.
Any experience mounting the Rocky Mount to either of these covers?

ANY fat bikers out there? Looking for recommendations on a rear rack to transport gear while riding.

    I don't.

Kuat racks seem to be pretty popular in UT through. They're all over the place. Don't seem up to as much offroady stuff though.

If I ever replace my current rack I'm going with one of those vert/north shore style racks like you got.

The alta rack is a cool design because the baskets are interchangeable. You can move them around on the bar to prevent handlebar interference and to swap tire basket sizes.

They have their pros and cons, but the pros far outweigh the cons.

gives you more room in the bed
can fit a bunch of bikes
isn't a huge lever arm like those 4 bike tray racks
    Built VERY sturdy

I did a lot of research and decided on the Alta Rack because of a few design features that really make it different. All parts are hardware store replacable, zerk fitting on the pivot, movable baskets.

Ali is also based across town from me, and was gracious enough to lend me a demo rack he had more than once for a weekend to try. All he asked was I give him a few product pictures, and any recommendations. So a little part of me went into it's R&D. I don't get any sort of benefit from recommending his product over others, but I love to support little guys making stuff in their garage, and want to support a good product any time I can.

I like that style...almost all my DH buddies have converted to those, but I wonder how it is on trail? I never take my bike rack off and so it sees anything the truck does.
