Woman Smuggled Fentanyl in Vagina for Plastic Surgery ‘Discount'

A Kentucky woman, who tried to smuggle nearly 2,000 fentanyl pills into the United States from Mexico in her underwear and vagina, pleaded guilty to federal drug charges this week in South Texas.

Yenny Yamileth Pino, a 21-year-old Kentucky resident and U.S. citizen, transported the potent synthetic opioid within her genitals in exchange for “discounted” plastic surgery, say the feds.

On August 12, 2018, Pino attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico Border at a Texas port of entry where she was detained and later arrested. U.S. Customs and Border Protection referred her to a secondary inspection as a result of “inconsistencies in her travel itinerary” when she walked across the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge, according to the criminal complaint filed against her. Agents conducted a pat down during which they found two vacuumed sealed bags in her underwear. The bags contained 881 unidentified blue pills.

Generals and Admirals don’t mess with trivial crap like that, that’s what they have captains and majors for.

I had several of those magnetic flat racks (worth the money) and I can understand getting a blocked rack (not staggered, evenly divisible by 3) upside down. However, since you have to look at the ribbons in order to align it on the “pocket,” there’s absolutely no good reason to get it wrong. Every servicemember becomes a master of their particular rack, and accidents like this just don’t happen.

I have to believe he did it on purpose, perhaps in protest.

    I protest of what though?

It’s quite possible, he was in a rush and just failed.

5 fired in Sheriff’s Office sex scandal

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — A sex scandal at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has cost five employees their jobs.

Communications Officer Mikaylah Coone, Sgt. Justin Tisdale, Investigator Aaron Ethridge and deputies Austin Bailey and Matt Williams were all notified Jan. 24 that they had been terminated.

Tisdale, Bailey and Williams all had extra-marital affairs with Coone between September and November 2018, according to Sheriff’s Office internal investigation reports released Wednesday.

Ethridge, who was dating Coone when the affairs were occurring, was fired for threatening “two fellow employees and their family members with job loss” after learning what was going on, the report in his case said.

Coone, who is not a deputy, was fired not only for the affairs but also for lying about them when confronted by investigators.

“None of those people should have been the least bit surprised,” Sheriff Michael Adkinson said of the terminations. “I’ve never been unclear about my expectations for conduct. If your personal life becomes a Sheriff’s Office problem, it’s going to end badly.”

Another factor that contributed to the decision to fire the employees was the volatility of the domestic situation created by their actions, Adkinson said.

“We’ve seen domestic problems across the state. You’d hate to see something happen where things got so heated somebody does something dangerous,” he said.

Sustained charges in all cases included violating agency rules and orders, and conduct unbecoming a public employee. Coone, Tisdale, Bailey and Williams were also cited for having an inappropriate relationship.

None of the officers fired for their involvement in the affairs reported having a relationship with another Sheriff’s Office employee, as regulations require, the reports showed.

An allegation of dishonesty was also sustained against Coone. She denied ever having sex with Williams, and in an initial interview with investigators said she didn’t have sex with Tisdale. Both deputies discounted her claims.

Pleas for leniency from all of the employees involved were rejected by Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jerry Bryan.

“Due to the egregious nature of the offense and the effect that this action has had on the reputation and morale of the agency, I recommend the proposed discipline be upheld,” Bryan said in a letter informing each employee of his or her termination.

The scandal began to unravel Dec. 27 when Bailey’s wife discovered Coone had been speaking to her husband and attempted to notify Ethridge, Coone’s boyfriend.

Early the next morning, Ethridge called the wife and asked for the Baileys’ home address, and stated “if he went to their house he was going to ‘lose his job today,’ ” the report in his case said.

Ethridge continued to send text messages relating such threats as “he (Bailey) needs to leave the agency or I am, or we both are,” the report said.

“Ms. Bailey stated she took the messages as threatening her husband’s job,” the report said.

She also reported a phone call in which Ethridge stated if he saw Deputy Bailey, “he would keep hitting him in the face until he couldn’t lift his hands.”

Deputy Bailey reported receiving threats from Ethridge during the same week.

The messages were similar to those left for his wife, the report indicated. There were also others that said “I do not need to run into you in person, ever” and “I do not want to see you or your car anywhere near my house again.”

Another deputy, who in 2017 had a sexual relationship with Coone that he reported to superiors at a time when he was separated from his wife, also told investigators he had received threats from Ethridge.

“It is a fireable offense to have an affair while you are married. I don’t care if all of us lose our jobs. So I suggest you start applying other places while you still can. Once you get fired you are done with law enforcement,” one message from Ethridge said, according to the report.

The deputy, who said he believed Ethridge was threatening his job with his comments, was not among the five people recently disciplined.

That deputy’s wife said she was also threatened by Ethridge.

In requesting leniency for his actions, Ethridge, who has been with the Sheriff’s Office for four-and-a-half years, admitted he had overreacted when he received news of his girlfriend’s affairs.

“On the day of this incident my world flipped upside down and I had a lapse in my usually good judgment. I know I made a mistake and there should be punishment involved,” he said. “I feel like termination for this incident would be excessive and I request other options be considered ... I love my job and feel like I have had a very positive impact on the lives of the residents of Walton County.”
