New Ford Ranger mega thread

these manufacturers are pumping out these vehicles at such a fast pace that every new model has it's issues when they come out until they get everything ironed out.

 

And? We've had more than our share, pretty sure my running
list was up to 14 issues. It's part of buying the first run.

Mine had neither of these. But it’s just a fact I read and decided to share. Naw, I know recalls are pretty wide spread across all manufacturers but when it’s this quick, makes you wonder about quality checks.

 

Was going to say the same, doesn't seem like a big deal. Only 3500 units are recalled and not all of them may have the issue. Must be all the ones manufactured on a Friday.

 

Look deeper, it's about 3rd gens NOT having this issue.

 

I took it more as a pick on Ranger or Ridgeline thread.

Like when I fart and my wife looks at me, so then I blame it on the cat. We all know it was me but it’s still a little internal chuckle.

 

Off topic kind of, but does anyone know how many Rangers have been sold so far?

 

You could also spin it to say quality checks are working since only 3500 are impacted instead of 35,000.

 

See, if our trucks get a recall, it’s not funny. But when a competing truck gets a recall, it’s down right hilarious!!

 

Well true. I mean they did recall them pretty fast. But that’s a serious issue.

 

Just saying but dodge just made a recall on over 650k trucks for a loose bolt that could cause you to lose power steering

 

And something about the brakes too.

 

I think they said 1200 in the month of January, the article said that Ford was approving overtime to keep up with the demand.

To me, it looks like a chickafied truck. Very Euro. Not interested as it looks now.

 

Imagine when Ford starts advertising the truck. I bet most of the first sales were diehard Ranger fans and fans of the global model.

 

Chickafied? Yeah. But I have to admit, it does look a little euro but it wears it well.

 

Yeah, I bet there are lots of fans of the old Ranger happy to see it's return.

The recall must be bit of a disappointment to them. Thought the truck was based on the international Ranger...surprised to see the recall of something that sounds like a potential life threatening hazard.

Hopefully nobody gets hurt.

 

Every manual vehicle can be shifted from "park" with the vehicle off.

It's a non issue.

 

My only thoughts on this recall, is that this isn't a "new" ranger. It is based on the world ranger that has been out for a while, so this would be more indicative of shitty assembly QA on sub components and overall QA. SMH, shame on Ford. These should of been really clean and good to go. Never by a vehicle in the first year or so of production and NEVER buy a big 3 vehicle after a strike.
