Cleaning the floor mats sucks

Did the sucky job of cleaning the stock floor mats this weekend.

Threw them on the floor in the living room, got the house vaccum out and went at it. Outside, sprayed them down with water, some dawn dishwashing liquid and a bristle brush and scrubbed.

Mats actually turned out great, got all stains out and one mark I thought was going to be permenant. I love a clean truck.

Cant wait till I get my wethertechs !!

 

I've always cleaned them by first vacuuming, then putting them in the clothes washer. Use the gentle cycle, *some* detergent and let them air dry. DO NOT use any kind of harsh cleaner or bleach. Laissez fair (sp?) cleaning FTW.

 

Make sure to dry them well!

Once that moldy smell sets in its impossible to get out.

clean them well then give them a couple thick coats of scotchgard. After that, dirt and stains seems to come out with a simple rinse of water and maybe a light scrub with a rag.

 

I've pressure washed them at the car wash and it'll get most out except really bad stains.
