If you have a 2016 like in your profile, your truck came with the 24. 27 fits, but you need a 2nd gen battery tray. I recommend AGM.

What's your goal in upgrading? People have lots of needs for upgrading batteries. If you don't have anything specific in mind, you may just be wasting money. Also, it sounds like your battery may be newer if it's 27 already. They usually have a date on them.

No battery is testing weak. Slow start in the cold mornings. No real crazy draws. Small amp for subwoofer. HIDS and leds. That’s about it.

I've heard great things about Northstar. I'm probably going that route when the time comes.

Is the battery overhanging the tray? If not then someone already upgraded to the 2nd Gen Tray, would also recommend checking out the Northstar Battery.

My agm experience, I had an Optima yellow top in my 93 pathfinder, with a perfectly functioning charging system and it crapped out sooner than the interstate I had before it. The yellow top was about $200.

IMO the agm are not worth it unless you plan on being on your side a lot or have to mount the battery in an off-camber position

Third gen comes with a group 24 from the factory but a 27 will fit with a 2nd gen battery tray or if you cut off the edge of the existing one.

This is what I put in mine and it’s been great (it’s made by North Star)
