ID the lien holder, find out whats owed on it. Ask to buy it for that much. (as long as its lower than asking price)

Actually had a decent day today, thank you! Felt good. Crew was productive. We had 2 meetings that went well. Had a nice quiet dinner with my wife. Now I'm sitting here with our dog in my lap.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and then!

 

I'm celebrating it now with a cup of tomato soup and a roast beef sammich.

It should be defined by policy. I've done 14's, fire puts in crazy hours. Trades and Labor folks (WG's) are usually in the 4/10 catagory so they can get 40 hr week done in less days and eliminating some travel time. So short answer is they can only operate up to what policy allows as long it can be done in a safe manner. Some contingency plans allow for longer work hours.

No. Most of those laws are actually related to interstate commerce and mining (crazy as that sounds). By policy I have to have a CDL even though I'm not engaged in anything "commercial" or interstate commerce. But under those laws I don't need to do a logbook because I get an hourly wage and our policies usually limit the work day to 10 hours. Subtract time for breaks, lunch, pre-trip and post trip we don't meet the maximum time a commercial driver is allowed to drive under normal circumstances. And, regardless what policy says or what management says, the operator has the burden of safe operation and is ultimately responsible for any and all accidents they may cause.
