parts are still coming in, but I couldn't wait to put some rounds through my christmas gift.

 

Kind of funny story, well not really. Depends which end of the story you are on.
Beautiful day this past summer had the boat out on the river with a friend. End of
the day back the trailer in the water, loaded it up and strapped it down. Walking up to the truck
to pull out of the water when a guy stops me and started talking to me about my boat.

Not paying attention as I was into the conversation a guy who I am assuming was an accomplice
cut my straps and before I could say OH SH*T my boat was in the water and heading off down river.
A couple days later found out that the idiot that stole my boat had hit something and the boat sank.
They found the boat 15 miles down river from the ramp where I loaded it. Nothing else was found.
All my firearms gone. Whether they offloaded them somewhere along the way is unknown. Bad
ending to a good day.

What's the deal with them. I've heard it takes forever to get it back. Why is this?

ATF...and some places the county Sheriff is an asshat so he wont sign the paperwork...

 

So is that when let's say the gun show comes around and you purchase and walk away....if you can...or do you still have to wait for asshats?

 

not for NFA stuff, ...It can be a pain to get the required signature you need to process your paperwork, you just have to avoid the asshats. ATF is there to take your money... They do the background check etc but with thousands of people across the country buying them, it takes them a while to get to your paperwork/fingerprints etc...

its been a number of years but for example I had to get a signature from either the county sheriff or "chief law enforcement officer" the sheriff in the county I was in didnt want "suppressors" in his town...wouldnt sign the paperwork. I tried to get my Air Force security forces officer to sign but he was too chicken. I ended up getting the AG I believe to sign the paperwork. Basically boils down to are you a criminal or not. Not about the "suppressor". But with an extensive background checks and security clearances I shouldnt have had any problem. Just some Po-dunk Barney fife sheriff didnt want to be bothered. I still got my "suppressors" without the Sheriffs stupid signature. (also I have nothing against any LE/Sheriff etc in this forum just had the issue with the one in particular)
