I imagine as long as the Jeep Gladiator provides an MT, Toyota will do the same with the Tacoma, but there seems to be no predictability out of Toyota.

How's your chirps after adjusting? Any update on that? Mine only does it when its cold, then goes away once the truck is warmed up, so i havent really been trying much to get rid of it. But if that got rid of a lot of it, i should probably do it. Well i should anyway, lol

1000 miles later the chirps are back, but the clutch does feel a lot better despite the chirping. At this point I'm torn between throwing a bearing at it for 10-20k miles (doing the work myself), or maybe buying a new trans eventually in a year or so when it drives me to the point of dropping 3k on a new trans. I wish the bearing and sleeve it rides on could be replaced both.

Everything else about the truck is awesome, this damn chirping drives me crazy.

I thought about the t56 swap, if it ever gets super bad. Might look into a good used one of those. Or maybe there is something better out there, didnt look much into it.

Would you be able to adapt a T56 for 4x4 use?

It's taken me a couple months to get used to driving my T4R with auto after having my 2nd gen Taco 6spd for 11 years. I still find myself riding someone's ass due to a lack of engine breaking.

For any of you who have been around for awhile, go check out the banned members thread. Our old friend @PROseur has been banned. The reasoning is hilarious...especially when a few of us understand that he is actually a she....

O yeah a she with a truck driver mouth. I’m sure that’s why she was banned. Actually may be a big rig driver, she drives a lot.

It's built into the front part of the housing and comes assembled as one. But that front part I can't find a part number for in all the fiche diagrams. If I could just change that I'd be down but I can't figure out how to get it without buying a whole trans.

Yep glad to hear! Was too much to hope they'd offer it with the DCLB config or allow the keyless/smart key system with it, but at least it is here to stay (at least until the next redesign, then we'll see).
