URE was a disappointment actually. Be a whole different animal in the rain I am sure.
Windrock was more fun for me the first time. Second time not so much.
I have plans do hit more spots down that way for sure.

 

Depends on timing, but perhaps.
Maybe have ECGS pull my third this time

Depends Windrock is so huge that you can spend a week there and not see everything. There are a lot of cool smaller parks around just depends on what you are looking for.

 

2 years now, I like it a lot. It's beef.

 

On one of the earlier pictures it looked like that steering oickup point was adjustable. While I'm sure that helped with Ackerman and bump steer set up I'm not surprised it failed.

 

Doesn't look like there is much meet left around those slots either. But the other pic doesn't show the heim for the tie rod end either. So there is also the possibility of it smashing into something causing the failure. Looking forward to hearing the failure mode and corrections to be made moving forward.

Knew that’d be the weak point. Also didn’t know why they had the hole for the tie rod bolt slotted.

 

Even Mike's prototype custom pitman arm has way more strength than what the fabbed knuckles have. They definitely need to step it up quite a bit in the steering strength if they are going to run big tires. I'll be running a dual tie in with double ended ram assist and custom drag link tie rod on mine. Here are a couple pics, can see material size difference. And my custom tie rod instead of using a heim on top of the arm for a drag link, it's 3/4".

 

Big Mike said it was slotted for adjustability as they hadn't had everything worked out when they made the knuckles.

 

Even if it wasn't slotted that's not enough material there is more steering material on the factory knuckles for steering.

 

Didn't say it was. Was just mentioned why BM had slotted it.

 

Yeah, I'm just surprised they even sent it out that way from the start. Just one of those small things overlooked that was probably rushed to get it together for the race.
