yeah but you're doing like the full traverse of it. I'd be fine with living up there. The nature trail and views are great. that's also about the only affordable home I've come across up there lol

lol. Houses in the good areas of Northport / Tuscaloosa area are super expensive (living within any city is for that matter). Any house identical to my current house costs an average of $70k more in Tuscaloosa.

You pay the premium for better schools.

Oh the views are unmatchable and the nature trail is a very nice amenity. You and I have different ideas of "affordable" haha. I prefer to keep my house payment under 2k monthly

do you even maths bro? a 300k house isn't going to be over 2k a month.

When I bought my house I calculated up to $300k and a payment at that price was around $1,500. Interest rates were a little lower then though.

My current house is almost exactly $1k monthly

Depends on what you put down, interest rates, PMI, etc etc. Regardless, I don't want to be house poor.

at my current interest rate of 4.35% it would be just under 1500 for a 300k house.

I have a 20 year loan on my current house and pay roughly 900$ a month (buildin' that equity!) so when we go dual income we'd be more than able to double that amount.

I'd have 2 houses worth of equity sold (mine and Amy's) and could get out of PMI, as neither of us have PMI now.

Yea, that's different having 2 houses also with equity, I didn't think of that.

Having that mush equity in a house is huge when it come time to buy another.

I locked in my 3.25% interest rate the day after the brexit occurrence which dropped the rates pretty good.

yeah, so you are correct lol we do have different ideas of "affordable". hoping to make enough profit + the equity I currently have in my house to be able to solely put 20% down on a 300k house.

yeah my 4.35% is mainly because I bought my house "as-is" and nobody would do lower for that reason. I'm sure with my credit buying a different house I should be able to get better.
