All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I feel the same, that’s why it’s hard to let them go. Airing down a 35x12.5 has always given me mad traction on the trails. And has always driven me mad airing them back up ;)

Making sure I don’t blow up anything up. I got some cube lights that I wanna mount in front of the A pillar on my truck. Function wise, here’s what I want to happen using an on-off-on switch I’ve already preinstalled:

“On” Position 1: automatically on with high beams
“On” Position 2: override switch (cubes on anytime)
“Off”: of course is just always off

Will this wiring scheme work? Sorry if my schematic symbols aren’t exactly right, it’s been a minute since I had to draw a schematic.

Pretty much, I have my piaa's wired up the same way on my 1st gen. One hot going out to the lights (middle post maybe?), high beam on one side, and battery or key switched hot on other side.

Doing so if your switch is lighted or not, that takes away the function. Or it did on mine atleast, tapped the dash lights so it just comes on with marker lights

Just the forest service roads really... You can check out Helton Creek Falls- that road was fun. The good road everyone rides up there on Trey Mountain is closed but you can still drive the easy stuff. Lots of waterfalls to hike. Could ride up to Charlie's Creek.

Hi all, getting ready to purchase some new Wheels and tires for my 2015 taco. Keeping suspension stock for now...been doing some research and notice some people run into issues with aftermarket wheels causing steering wheel vibrations? Seems like a whole array of reasons for this as well as solutions..anyhow, is there a specific shop you guys would recommend for something as simple as mounting/balance/aligning new wheels/'tires?

I don’t think it’s the shop as much as it is getting appropriate wheels. I think Toyota uses hub centric vs lug centric.

I just had my lift and wheels done at a place in Dallas, GA. I don't know how far you are from there.
It's called AVW Offroad link is below.

What size wheels/tires are you looking for? I may have one or the other available soon in the 17” wheel variety.

    This.

Even lug centric wheels can be balanced fine on these trucks. If you are sticking with the stock size, you *should* be fine either way. I would definitely stick with hub centric wheels though. Any tire shop *should* be able to balance whatever you get.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was able to find a new set of SCS Ray 10s in dark bronze, 16 inch...so I will likely be purchasing them and some new tires at 265/75/16 as I may choose to wait on buying a lift for a few more months. It seems like some of the issues can just be caused by quality control of the Falken Wildpeak tires, so as a result, I will start looking at other brands.

If I may make a recommendation based solely on personal opinion, go with 17s. You'll still have plenty of rubber between the wheel and the road and I think they look better. I'm not sure the cost difference though. I'd also be curious to know the weight difference. Every pound saved.....

Pretty sure the Falken issues were early on, and have been resolved. Also believe most people that had those issues got them fixed by Falken or the retailer. For what its worth, i have them, love them, and have had no issues at all. Great tire at a great price.

As someone with 16" wheels, I agree. I like the look of 16" wheels but you have more load C options in 17" wheels.
