Yessir! And remember, fatherhood is the role you play after birth, not before! Kudos to you for accepting the role!

yeah I'd expect the 3-5 range. luckily no. she has one friend that is trying, but that friend also does a lot of stuff that Amy just isn't into lol. she also has another really good friend that is already married but they are on the same kinda plan we are of wanting to do so much with our jobs/careers and want to experience things before kids so that helps.

Amy is just so work driven at Boeing and has so much she wants to achieve, that she could with kids, but it's way easier without so that's a driving factor for her for sure. I also expose her to my nephews/niece enough (usually when they are terrors) so that's nice free birth control!

I'm also an advocate for no children, if that's how things play out lol. So I'm no motivator to have kids. Not opposed to and would love to have one/two one day or whatever falls our way, but I am in no way against zero kids lol

The nice/nephew thing is exactly like the kids in my wife’s classroom. No way she wants to come home to a kid of her own right now after dealing with 25 others all day.

i thought you live around hoover / vestavia? they have good schools unless you're strictly referring to the college.. even then though UAB is a good school.

that's why I'm assuming my house area goes for so much with Indian Spring (25k yearly private school), oak mtn about 2 miles away, and spain park being 3 miles away. also the interstate is .5 miles away with nothing in between me and interstate.

all 3 of mine have been around 760 - 790 and they will not budge...

I've been told several times that basically anything over 760 it doesn't matter what you're at, you're in the upper echelon and to them 780 = 820, doesn't matter.

Just make sure whatever decision you want is final before its too late. If you decide later on and want kids then being a new dad at 40 may come into play. I always knew I wanted kids and getting married at 30 I knew we would have kids fast which was fine with me. We will try for #2 in the next year or so so I will still be young and healthy enough to be an active father for them both.

nobody wants to live in bibb, but i get it mercedes is also in the middle of nowhere and I would move towards coaling cottondale if i would've gotten a job there, but CAT hit me back first on my resume. still may look into mercedes after i get a little more time under my belt here.

you're so far ahead of most people having that rainy day fund. I could get injured and be out of work for a year and not worry.. i'd be super pissed off, but i wouldn't have to skip a meal or change my ways.

holy shit on your eating out a lot.. i haven't ate out for lunch, but 1 time at work last year.. I'm not counting the times the company paid for lunch of course just my times paying.

well I go out to eat lunch at work at a minimum I'd say 3 times a week, at roughly 10-12$ each time.

    that's 4 weeks x 3 x 12 = 144$.

then eat out with Amy probably once a week for dinner at an average I'd say 30$ a trip.

    that's 4 weeks x 1 x 30 = 120$

    so 264$ total?

like I said roughly 300$ average or so

i just got up with 100 + messages.. holy crap

i'd like to get good at doing equipment welding in the field, that's why i got the generator/welder when it was on sale. just other responsibilities are keeping me from it.

so much money saved, my GF doesn't want kids, she's actually mentioned adopting before having her own so idk. i'm not opposed to kids, but not pushing for them either.

thank goodness my GF would rather me fix something, because then I can fix a big dinner on the weekends and basically have lunch for quite a few days at work. I'm a super penny pusher.

lol we know you're a penny pusher.

I do that with grilling, but I get tired of eating the same meal over and over. Variety is the spice of life.

We also started going to the farmers market for fruits and veggies. Probably save 20-25 bucks each trip there instead of buying it at the grocery store.

it's not a bad thing, that's why i admit to it.. being cheap day to day allows for those big purchases like that Bobcat 250 EFI.

it's kinda funny buying something nice people are like, "must be nice to have money," yet i my monthly bills are 1/4 there's because i'm such a penny pusher.
this is usually said by people who drink or have a tobacco issue to which is even funnier, my entire week of food B/L/D is probably only $50.

Per week? :O We never go out for lunch unless we're on a trip, and only do dinner once a month except special occasions and vacations.

Another tip: Moissanite for the ring. Much cheaper, nobody can tell the difference, and you're not funding african warlords- there's still no way to verify the true origin/history of diamonds..

Edit: And tungsten carbide rings go for like $20 on Amazon, don't give a jewelry store $400 for one.

cooking is of almost no enjoyment to us, that's really our issue. it's not a desire to eat out, it's a desire to not cook lol

I just eat dinner. That's how I save money. Also keeps me from getting fat. Its a stupid proof savings/weight loss plan.
