I'm about halfway into my wait for Mobtown sliders. I looked at the RCI but once I saw the design of Mobtown I realized that it was worth the wait. Trying not to get my hopes up that they'll be done before Shamrock. Like @G.T. said I'm sure they'll be done just in time for my return. :annoyed:

    So. Many. Stickers.
MoBtown build some quality stuff, but man they are a bit pricey, esp with half a year wait times... Shwew

They really aren't that much more than other quality rock sliders. Its the shipping and added options. Currently the lead time is 12 - 16 weeks, not half a year.

You guys have to understand that they quote these crazy wait times because they aren’t making the products themselves, they farm that out to people who actually have all of the expensive tools to be able to do the work. Since they aren’t big enough to be the prime contract for those companies thy get the “we’ll fit you in” package.

So your saying that Mobtown doesn't actually fabricate their own products? I guess I could buy into that partially. I still think they make a lot of their own things though

CBI bed rack and sliders, Backwoods Adventure Mods front and rear bumpers, etc. And some stickers.
Yeah, I thought they built their own stuff -- I think I remember something about them moving to another building a while back with more space.

I went with CBI for both my rack and sliders, both arrived within a month, well before the promised date. But, now I hear they are having big delays. I think the Mobtown bolt-on design is better, but CBI was cheaper and I was feeling cheap.

Yeah I searched through their Instagram. They definitely have the space. They even posted an ad for Help Wanted "fabricator" but it could be they just fabricate their small things cmc plates and oversized hi-lift base.

They may, we can ask Joe when we see him in March.

CBI and Pelfrey were using the same company to make their stuff for them. Laser tables that can cut that thickness are very expensive. CNC sheet brakes are ridiculously expensive as well. Add robotic welding for the primary bumper bodies and you can see why these small boutique shops have to outsource.

If I keep the LandCruiser I’ll add sliders to it instead of the factory sideboards and I’ll have them locally made. The options for factory sliders for LandCruisers are fairly bland as you can imagine.

The RCI sliders have an option for a 5 degree angle.... is this worth it?

Nope, unless you want a more flat angle, the better the angle the more clearance u will have with something already sticking out. Imo
