If you have the bed off it’s not hard to drop the tank, get dmzs frame box kit if you can and do it all at once it’s worth it. Now if you have the bed on don’t bother dropping the tank, that looks like a huge pain, but with the bed off there’s like 2 plugs, two fuel connections, and like 2 bolts for the straps that hold the tank no problem with two people. I think you might have to take off the charcoal canister too if you drop the tank, but again simple

You’re long bed. The bed off for long bed makes a huge difference. Short bed doesnt help nearly as much to pull the bed

Bed is off but I already have the frame boxed. Just need access to weld in the hanger which sounds like getting the tank off isn't worth the extra space.

So anyone here bumping off the upper and not have an engine cage tied into the cab cage? Solo is saying it probably wouldn’t be strong enough to hold but idk looks like it’d work if there was enough structure

I would think with a well built engine cage you would be fine. Are you running their xlt kit?

Are going to do a cab cage as well or just the engine cage? If doing both just tie them together anyways. Only a few extra tubes.

That's the project for this spring. It's a matter of building enough structure into the engine cage, and that will be more than you'd need with a cab cage to tie into. The hard part is the back of the engine cage, where you'd normally tie into the A pillar on the cab cage, has to be supported.

If you don’t have to drop the tank don’t but if you disconnect anything fuel related the danger is with the fumes so cap and ventilate the area with a fan. Jeff had a fuel cell that had been empty for weeks explode and fk him up bad....like ambulance to his shop bad

I did the same with the perches and ended up cutting off my sliders for the install.

What axle perches do you guys recommend for SUA specifically the DMZ kit? I didn't realize they weren't included. Looking at the ruff stuff ones that are boxed and are shorter so they don't inhibit flex.

I thought it would have come with them...I would give Tim a buzz tomorrow and see his recommendations. Worst case Im sure good ol kartek would have something...just don't know what would be best.

I’m almost positive the perches are part of the kit. Definitely call Tim first.
