Stoked to see where this ends up and jealous of the equipment you have access to!

In my unsolicited opinion, door latches are like seat belt bolts. They have a very important function so don't fuck with them.

@mesojdm I completely missed this last night but WHAT is your third brake light? OMG. I need that.

Also thanks for the info on the powder coat. I placed an order today for the tundra green and one other color that they said they’ve had good feed back on. Fingers crossed.

Thanks. Their catalog just randomly showed up yesterday. One of the benefits of companies selling our private information to mailing lists - sometimes it actually is a benefit. Not very often though.

Excited to see the end product. I'm ordering myself either a Prinsu or Rocky Mountain Rack very soon. If your end product looks as good as it does thus far, AND you're willing to make more I'll likely try and get one.

So I designed all of it in CAD, wrote all the tool paths and cut all the parts in house. My friend at the end of our building is a powder coat guy. It’s plausible that these could become a thing. It’s been a fun project. It really started because I wanted a rack that I could still fit in my garage with. I bought a prinsu first and it didn’t fit under the door without anything on it. So eventually I just decided I’d make my own. We can talk about another one if you like.

I’m a diehard gun nut so I’ve got several different sizes I can play around with and see what I like. I’m Between the 1720 and the 1750. The 1750 would be full length on the rack down one side, if you put one on driver and one on passenger you’d have about 14.5” in between them for other gear. The 1720 is the same width and height, just a bit shorter.
