I was hoping that I could run the 4.5 BS on the F5s to get less tire poking out the side (if I understand the concepts correctly), with your exactly tire. I've got a stock SR 4x4 and it sounds like I'd have major rubbing issues, eh?

Less than with the 3.5 BS, maybe none. Hopefully someone can chime in.

Ah, I guess I was misunderstanding the issue. Where were your tires rubbing exactly?

So Discount Tire completely derped my install today...they are replacing both wheels. Unfortunately, SCS sold out of black 17x9s in 10 seconds, so now I wait. At fist they were like, “we know a guy to fix them”...then they looked at my face and promptly asked how much for full replacement.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a set if I can confirm that the 4.50"/+0mm won't rub on stock suspension. I'm a bit worried they'll rub on the inside.

Anyone try this? I'd be running 265/75r16 falken wildpeaks.

The ill-informed will say it's poor quality, but the truth is this is usually the result from front-coning where a metal cone is tighten down onto a painted surface. You can get away with this on stock wheels or wheels with a big center cap to cover damages, but not on an exposed centerbore like the F5. Back-coning on the balancing machine is what's needed. A more experienced tech will usually know this by just looking at the wheels and what they're working with.

I'm glad they taking care of you. We should have black back in stock mid/late February.

That's the plan! I'm at full turn all the time on my daily commute (involves the tight roads and steep hills of Seattle), other than that I hit plenty of old bad logging roads to access hunting, but I'm not an off-road enthusiast beyond that. What makes you confident there would be no issues, out of curiosity? Just trying to do due diligence before spending...
