Odd little quirks between trim levels apparently... didn't know that!

disagree with Tundra looking "rounded". It's big and burly but also chiseled out and tough in design, you can see in its lines, it's hood, headlights, grille, height and width.

Im weird but i need to have a volume knob. Last time i looked at aftermarket radios only a few had them. But yea its the way to go seems. Did you lose any of the factory features with the kenwood?

People sell used like new headunits right out of the truck for less than 1k, why not get that instead of losing thousands trading in or buying the HU with that inflated price?

Well crap. I had no idea those head units were so expensive. There is no way I would spend 4K+ on one.

My 2019 Tacoma purchase is starting to feel like a massive screw up.

Wonder if letting the cat out of the bag so early on the 2020 will have an impact on 2019 sales.

Oh for sure! I wouldn’t have bought my Tacoma if I would have known about the 2020 upgrades.

Tbh I do miss the volume knob, but gained SO many other features. Data — at the push of a button it’ll read out tire pressures, trans temp, intake air temp, loads of other data. And the CarPlay benefit can’t be overstated ... it’s miles ahead of a simple Bluetooth connection.

Edit: Plus, the front cam is way nice to have, whether off road or in a parking lot. And the Kenwood lets me turn on either front or rear anytime.

So much complaining! It's like this site is overrun with 13 year olds. Toyota makes improvements, people complain, they don't make improvements, people complain.

I like the 360 camera thing, that would be nice for solo wheeling, although the bottom camera probably complicates armor upgrades and might be prone to getting damaged and covered with mud.

Until my dying day, I'll never understand all the angst over drum brakes. I believe I've heard every argument against them a million times, and I care less and less. I have never had a problem with slowing or bringing my vehicle to a stop. For steep declines there is ample engine braking available in both hi and low range gearing. I made it from the top of the alpine ridge trail to the bottom in RMNP with barely a tap to the brakes while in S mode and switching between 2nd to 4th gears in 2WD. The same goes for 15-20% grades in 4LO. If your getting brake fade, you are doing it wrong.

Seriously, over apple carplay? There will be an inevitable price hike too dude, likely not a ton, but it'll be there.

CarPlay is huge (to me) but also the upgrades in general. Honestly it’s just because I got my truck about 3 weeks ago and then all this news hits. If my purchase was a year or longer ago it’d be much easier to blow off.

Lol, one does have to wonder how much the new Ranger will take away from sales if at all. We shall see. I feel like Tacomas are the hip thing right now, at least with my generation (millenials), I've drove them since high school, but have never seen so many people buying them now at my age and most not needing a truck what so ever.

Besides Carplay, the upgrades arent really that huge, I mean, besides 18-19, every year is gonna have some little upgrade change. 17 got power sliding windows, 18 got TSS and leather, 20 got LEDs and Entune 3.0, etc. etc. you'll always be on the losing end, just the way it is, unless you trade in every year and then your losing for other reasons...

Right now you're ahead in paying off your truck and will be in a better place when the 2022-23 redesign comes if you chose to upgrade and that will have way more changes/upgrades, much better than someone who just bought a 2020 or 2021, who will say the same thing you are saying now, gotta look at the silver lining.

I think the Ranger will do well and will settle into the #2 spot behind the Tacoma, its already a great truck and Toyota just keep improving upon it.

I saw a Lariat with Sport Package in Lightning Blue yesterday, it was pretty nice.

For now, they just started delivering, same when the 16 Tacoma's dropped, latest and greatest, they're gonna try their hardest to sucker in the must have early adopters who will pay MSRP. Price will eventually drop to be competative. Just like no one spends $60k on the Lariat F150s, just gotta wait till Summer/Fall.
