Let's See Some Softoppers

How is everyone securing the front window? I bought my softopper used so I’m not really sure if there’s something I’m missing.

 

When new they send you some snaps to drill into your bed or Velcro to Velcro the bottom.

My solution to securing rear panel to tailgate. I didn't want to cut and sew the new topper so I sandwiched magnets between high strength Velcro with adhesive backing and some neoprene from an old wetsuit. Works good.

 

That's a good idea. I just laid some automotive safe vinyl on the tailgate and the adhesive velcro atop of that. Works well.

 

Whats the look if you order the Rear Mesh Screen Panel or not? Does it let air in with the mesh screen? Im ordering this my dog to lay in the back of, figured it would be nice if it let air in.

 

it lets are in. I don't have a pic of it on but it's nice durable thick mesh with plenty of void space for air movement.

 

Is it easy to take the screen on and off ?

 

Yes. Just Velcro and zippers. 20 second change.

 

Pulled the trigger and ordered one. And tips on installation? Are people using more than the recommended velcro to hold down the flap? Anyone else running LED light strips for a 3rd brake light?

I tapped into the trailer lights for power. Can get pics if you want to see it.

 

It’s pretty straightforward, I bought mine second hand and I was able to figure it out. And if you mean the flap towards the back, I didn’t use anything for that. I never noticed any problems with it even driving highway speed.

 

Same. I never installed the velcro along the top of the tail gate either. It flaps a little bit in cross winds, but not enough to bother me.

 

I wondering what everyone else is doing for a third brake light? I thought that a third brake light has to be mounted higher than your taillights? Could be wrong.

I didn't mount a 3rd brake light on mine. I've got a covered trailer being towed all the time so I never saw the need.

The trailer doesn't have a 3rd light, so it must not be a law that you are required to have one.

 

I have the same interest (seeing a gray top on silver truck).

Very happy. It was the right choice for me. Black on the silver was too much contrast, doesn't look right imo.
