feeler;;;Turnout gear goods, wallets, bags, keychains, glove holders etc.

I have been messing around for some time making things for guys at work when they ask. I am no professional seamstress by any means, however, i have access to loads of used (firefought) turnout gear that i have been tinkering around with making wallets, keychains, duffles, and so on. People seem to like it, and its a good way to repurpose. If anyone is interested, let me know and ill see what i can do. I realized there are other companies that make this stuff and do a good job. However, i am a full time firefighter just doing this as a hobby, so its worth a shot. i will post photos as things are updated.

These are sweet! What an awesome idea for re-using old gear. I'd bet that material is nice and strong. I don't think I need any bags or wallets but I'd be interested in seeing what you put together.

An idea could be using the reflective pieces to put together bike reflectors that can be attached to saddles/handlebars/bags/etc.

I'm a size 31 waist, not sure what that would be for actual belt length? I can measure tonight if need be

 

Just make sure you run them through the gear washer beforehand a couple times...

Recycled Firefighter is out of Louisville, any affiliation? Been eyeing their stuff on IG

 

no affiliation. I believe he is on a volunteer dept as a paid firefighter in the county area. He isnt on the city dept. His stuff is nice, but a buddy of mine did somewhat of a photo thing for him to show off his stuff, and he didnt offer him a thing. not even a thanks. Honestly, thats the reason i decided to make stuff because of that. Everybody is happy with his gear, but that bothered me.
