Is removing the door edge guards as simple as pulling them off? When you removed them off was there any sort of damage to the paint underneath them?

I bought a '19 DCLB prem/tech Silver Sky (no bed mat or grill included) for $40K (some would say that is high as well but it is what it is). It was the best I could get.

Nope, a little residue from the double sided sticky tape which cleaned easily with some goof off.

Because there is dealer hold back...this is guarantied money Toyota pays the dealer to sell the vehicle. Then they make money on your trade if you have one and if financed they make money by marking up your interest rate, warranty, gap, accessories, etc....

Yeah especially with no trade and paying cash

Takes alot of ways they can make money off you (financing and trade lowballing)

My dealer, even though family friend and have bought a new car before is still on MSRP, plus 3.8% interest, and a little under trade in value on my 2018 WRX

Some will hit you with advertising fees, dealer holdback which is about 2-3% and Toyota Financial Reserve gives the dealership an additional $400+ on each vehicle. Rough numbers. Haven't sold cars for 14 years, but these numbers were from when I was recently purchasing mine just last month.

Then quantity bonuses. Like sell X for a $XXX,XXXX bonus. If they need just one sale to hit a quota/number, they'll take a big loss just get that big paycheck.

Did you enjoy selling cars? I’m thinking of a career change. Seems like it would be a cool challenge although I don’t like lying to people or tricking them.

A good salesman does not lie or cheat...the car sells itself.

my salesman was great, even though I was firm at my price of around 5 grand under msrp and shipping. He made it happen.

loved it...lots of hours because if your not there you aint selling. Just need to work for a reputable company i.e. Toyota and hopefully there is not a ton of salesman just a few so you have enough opportunity to sell

It's personal preference. What you like. I was always straight up and honest. Wasn't pushy and nice. That alone should get the sale. They'll remember and come back to you and give you the last shot. After a while it just got to me. Some people are just always about the dollar. Some people will try to do the right thing.

Hello guys, I am new to the forum. What do you guys think about this price for a 2019 TRD Sport Tacoma in cement color?

    It has these options:
    Technology package
    Cargo Bed light
    TRD blackout package
    Mud guards
    Premium carpet max set
    power tailgate lock
    Predator tube steps
    Vehicle protection package
    ELO GPS
    Window tint

Total price out the door is 35,270.

4wd or 2wd? Seems like a lot of people are leaving this out.

MSRP on the 2019 TRD sport DCLB 4x4 with premium package was $41k. I negotiated to $36,500. Also got $21500 for trade on a 2013 Tacoma sport DCLB 4x4. I feel like I got a deal.
