The auto shifting issue was annoying until I had the TSB applied. After driving a '93 Mazda B2200 for 20+ years, the 3.5 has plenty of power for my needs.
After some minor mods (wet okole seat covers, upgrade the JBL stereo, some cosmetic stuff, add a canvas topper) I can see myself driving and modding this thing until the doors fall off.
Joined here about 2 weeks after I bought it, and the all the hate caused me to doubt my purchase. A year later, and I've gotten to the point now where I can say I made the right choice for me, and just tune out the haters.

I guess if those items are a priority...then good for you.
I didn't need another truck in my driveway.
I needed a 1 and done utilitarian vehicle.
The TRD OR 4runner at $50k had nothing on a JLUR at $43k.
    That's apples to apples.

It's not so much that I have to have those but if I'm going to pay that kind of money for a vehicle it better at least have that. What I've learned with Jeep is you're buying that name more than anything along with the status symbol. They can have it. I know Jeep people will have a cardiac arrest but I'm here to tell you they are glorified pieces of crap. I've owned four different generations. YJ,TJ,LJ and JKU.

Not high. It's truth. 4.88s just made it livable. It was much better but the 3.8 couldn't hang with my 3.5.

Your right. It was the bug. Loved Jeep for years even though I knew deep down inside they were horrible. I like the versatility of one which is why they sell. Once I drove a Tacoma I forgot all about a Jeep. Though you can't take the doors or top off of it aside from that it will do anything a Jeep can. Will tow and haul more as well. Plus you don't have to work on it all the time either lol.

hang where? out on the street? Are you racing under powered Tonka trucks in the 1/4 mile? Not sure where your Tacoma is walking all over a jlu or jk but its definitely not out on the trails lol

    Tow more?
It better. Leafs vs coil springs. Another apple to orange comparison.
Thanks for the chat bud. Enjoy the Pro.

Tied several boat anchors to my truck to destroy MPG.
