I have the taco, wife's van, 2 tractors (third on order) and whole bunch of other things with oil & hydraulic filters. As said above, remove and reinstall when hot. That being said I have about 10 differ oil filter removing tools so I start with the strap wrench and move one to a similar gizmo with a steel band. My nuclear weapons are a sort of channel lock with a big round serrated jaw, then finally, a vice grip version of the same.

I have never had a filter not come off with the vice grip oil filter wrench. Not even the huge hydraulic ones. It crushes the filter (the hydraulic filters don't crush), but the filter comes off. Its good to have a back up plan!

I just did mine last night at 4600. Talk about virgin tight oil filter!!! By far one of the two tightest filters I have had to remove. Super easy except for that. I made sure not to overtighten it when i re installed it.

Secondary Air Filter removal. More to come hopefully.

THEY ARE "PRE LUBED" BUT, go ahead and put a film of oil on the gasket, it will not hurt a thing, this will make it seat better plus come off easier. The Toyota technicians don't do this, neither does the factory. Thus it being a pain in the ol ass when doing your own oil change when it was previously done at the stealership.

Mine was a son of a gun to get off. Ended up getting a big set of channel locks on it. I think a good filter wrench would off gotten it off also but mine was misplaced..

Strap wrench or an old leather belt works good. I end up using both of them at the same time to break her loose!
