Wanted to be neighborly and give you all an invite (not 15 hours before time). I'm hosting a meet and greet/mod day in Huntsville.

The only thing is, that could have been fixed and the truck back racing fairly quickly, odd they didn't keep running it.... Even if you are now out of the running, that's valuable field testing that they missed out on.

 

Super odd they didn’t fix it and box it in on the lakebed to keep testing the rest of the week...

 

Bad thing is they would have had to strip down the spindle then walk it back to camp then weld it up and walk back to install it. (to keep racing that is) no telling that they didn't fix it and wheel the rest of the week though

Yeah, hmm. Not sure about that one. Maybe they just felt defeated. Or messed up more than just the tie rod mount. I guess its plausible something else in the kit didnt hold up, maybe a bent arm or something that they couldn't fab up real quick. Who knows. Does seem odd they didn't try to fix it though. All that work to just get there then quit from what appears to be a "quick fix". Hopefully we'll find out the truth ...

Haha. It does seem that way, but we’ve been discussing this trip for a couple weeks via an “overlanding” group on Facebook. Hard core guys are going to be bored on this trip.

I love how normal wheeling is now "hard core" and driving down dirt roads with mud puddles is "overlanding"

 

The "normal wheeling" most people in here do is definitely considered hardcore by most anyone else.

 

They broke down like 10miles from the pits or.something didn't they?

Who's the dude a few years ago that blew a tire in the rocks there and walked to the pits to grab a new one?
