Well I went to one of my spots to see if the bottle of Ezra 101 was still on the shelf that I left that a few weeks ago. It was... so I bought it for a friend installing a u-joint for me tonight. Then the OF Rye caught my eye and it was appropriately priced at under $25. total wine and specs were sold out so I snagged one..

Anyways I’m checking out in this very small store and see off to the corner a unicorn in the wild. One fifth of Weller Antique 107. So I inquire what they’re asking for it and it’s apparently not in the system. Cashier says hold on let me call my boss. No problem... 2 mins later he proceeds to me it’s sold and someone already payed for it. Thinking to myself.. really... wtf... great way to conduct business...I’m trying to not get upset..So I ask well how do I become the guy who gets a bottle like that to which he has no answer and that his boss said the other guy already payed $90... Dont think I would have payed that but irritating to say the least. Will have to keep trying to find a w12 or w107 in this wild at a reasonable price.

    Happy hunting all.

    Thanks

I’m about to finish my bottle.

I find it’s better warm or room temp and letting it air out. I usually add an ice cube to my bourbon but not the eagle rare. Maybe a little water.

I just bought some tin cup and it’s the same. Warm and a dash of water.

I’m typically more of a scotch drinker so I’m learning to enjoy bourbon.

I like it for mixing. I'll occasionally drink it straight up, if I'm in the mood, but usually will go with Crown Royal if I want a Canadian Whisky straight.

Picked this up on the way home to celebrate a new position at work. I'll post back my thoughts once I crack it open!

I like everything I've tasted from Laphroaig. Their 10 year is my go-to scotch when I feel like having something decent.

Edit- Congrats on the new position, too!

I'm a big fan of the Laphroaig 10 yr as a nice go-to scotch. I saw this on sale so figured I couldn't go wrong. It was between this and Lagavulin 16, but I see that more frequently and it's always the same $92 regardless. And thank you!

I haven't tried the 16 for that reason, lol. I've tried the Laphroaig Quarter Cask and Triple Wood at tastings and liked them both very much, but I think I liked the QC a bit more than the TW. Problem was that I didn't have them both on the same day, so I wasn't able to compare them directly. Mostly I stick to the cheaper whiskies; $45-50 is about my upper limit when I'm buying a bottle.

    Poor quality cork control...

Clearly it's your fault. You honestly left that piddle in the bottom of the bottle? And corked it?

    For shame

Was going to work on it! It came out pretty easy. Unlike a wine bottle that does that.
