When I bought my DCLB Off Road last week, the dealer I normally shop at had one DCLB but they were willing to dealer trade for one, if they sold it before I got there. I agree with sitting down and listing your options out. They will get one to make a sale.

They do shit their own way, which is different than everywhere else in the country.....it's stupid. SET is the same way....It includes Florida and a couple of other states.

Are you talking the way they do options or what? I might be getting a DCLB in the next few weeks. I've been seeing a bunch on dealer websites down here in SA, I've just waiting to be 100% sure I want to do it before I go sit at a dealer and deal with their bs.

The way they load up their trucks with crap from the port....crap you don’t want and can’t get them to take off. They also have a fee, can’t remember the name, that gets added to every vehicle. GST basically charges it to all the dealers in the states they cover for marketing.
I went to the fleet guy at the dealership I bought mine from and ordered it without all the add on crap (not sure how he did that) but that fee was non negotiable.

Yeah, I was really hoping for CPO, like I got my last one. I'm going to start looking further out and see what comes up.

Don't know if they have it in your area but with services/dealers like Carmax and Carvana, you can have them ship a vehicle to your area.

I was kind of looking at Carmax for first gen Ridgelines and Titans.

There are posts online which makes it sound like Carmax's extended warranty is a pretty good deal. (that you have to pay on top of the cost of the car) A writer of jalopnik did an article about it.

While I was kind of interested in the extended warranty at Carmax, I didn't like how high they marked up the prices for their vehicles and the prices are non negotiable. But it seems to be a pretty good site/dealer to get what you want for used cars if you're looking for something specific. I think the bigger issue for me was that they didn't have what I was looking for at the time I was ready to make a purchase.

In regards to hauling a motorcycle. I guess you already haul them in your current truck and have experience in doing so. But hauling motorcycles was a primary reason in getting a truck, although I never got back into motorcycles after getting a truck. But if I was ever to get one again, think that I will just rent a trailer to haul them. It sounds like it's easier to load them on and secure and trailer rentals are like $40/day around here. Not sure how often you haul your motorcycle and I'm not that great at reversing with a trailer. But maybe something to consider if you can only find five foot bed short beds.

It looks like this dealership in Maryland has a new 2017 on their lot. No pics or anything so don't know if it's actually there:
    https://www.antwerpentoyota.com/new...+Access+Cab+6+Bed+V6+4x4+AT-5TFSZ5AN0HX120924

Doubt it's worth coming from Texas to get or see what kind of price you can get.

Anyways good luck with your search!

DANG! I found one in the midwest, agreed on delivery price, and when the salesman went to lay hands on it, he found someone else had dealer traded it earlier this morning. ;p

Ah well, going to keep looking. Thanks for the warnings on the Gulf Coast Cartel, and the encouragement.

This is EXACTLY why I don't have one. I had to choose between a decent sized cab and a decent sized bed... Went with the former as my other vehicle is a 2 seater and an AC with essentially no rear seat wouldn't have been practical. My first Taco was a 2010 DCLB and if my garage was a foot or so longer I'd have loved another one.

I just jam them in that 5 foot bed.

    And #family1stworldproblems

For the OP. Good luck, there should be access cabs with that 6 foot bed around. Keep looking, dont settle. I love access cabs (with regular 6 foot beds) but I had to go double for family life.

All Access Cabs have 6 foot beds. Just search for an AC. In my area there were lots of AC's for sale. Maybe search a nearby area to you.

When I got my 2017 inferno DCLB here in phoenix area it was the only 4x4 OR inferno DCLB. Rare breed, most like the short bed for clearance reasons and most say it looks nicer but a longbed can do much much more

When I decided on the quicksand I had to wait 3 months for them to build one. There was not a single one in the southeast.

If you're prepared to buy/fly & drive, they're out there to be had.

The biggest obstacle (other than the road trip) is getting the dealership to value your trade at anything reasonable without seeing it.
