    When I did Kangs (650 coils) I took off the sway bar. Yes I can notice the extra body roll but I'd never say it's sketchy or unsafe. To be fair....everything "feels" fine...until it doesn't and you're in an emergency evasive maneuver. With a wife & new babe? Methinks the flex isn't worth the loss of trust of your trucks abilities in said emergencies.

    2 of my best friends think that anything more than a stock 5 lugger is compensating for a needle dick. Needless to say they used to haze me like no other when my 6" lift on 34's rolled up. And then I slept with one of their friends at a Halloween party. Haven't heard any jokes since then :gossip: ;)

    @Nicklovin Nick, super glad I didn't go to Superstition. I'm heading in to work this morning and all of a sudden my breaks felt like they had a decent amount of "stopping power"? Then, I heard that tell tale sign of "grinding". I looked at my rotors after work and they're starting to scrape. :eek::goingcrazy::bananadead: Nothing bad, but I still would like to get them turned when I put my new pads on.

    @4WALKER or @MonkeyProof do you guys know roughly how much it costs to turn rotors? Way, way back in the day, I paid around $10-15/rotor. Anyways, I bought them brand new about 3yrs ago and know they still have more than enough meat to turn them and the surface is, more or less, just scuffed a little and no deep grooving. I'll see if I can't take a picture tomorrow. Just looking for a rough figure as I have to budget my money.

    Now, I just need to find a place to work on the truck??? :annoyed:

    Here's some pics when I did the front/rear brakes. Never mind the anti-seize as it looks like there is quite a bit when there really wasn't that much. I made sure to get the hub-centric though because it was F'N frozen on the rear. I had to "tap" and then "unbolt" (i.e. the bolt hole for the rear drum) at the same time just to remove the drum. Anyways, next time around the rear drum should come off a little easier.

    Those are my "new" rotors... at the time.

    Just showing the rear drums and new spring kit I put in.

    BrakeDrum_Duralast.jpg

    I forgot what TW member was getting ready to do their brakes and just happen to have these pictures so I took the time to annotate them... HAHAHAHAHA, disregard the annotation because I know you guys and a few others know this stuff. OMG, I HATE that top return spring. Granted, I know/realize they have a tool for it, but I've heard horror stories about even using the tool can be challenging? LOL, swearing out LOUD gave me STRENGTH!!! :muscleflexing::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Anyways, if you guys know roughly the price to turn a rotor I'd appreciate it. :bowdown:

    SWEET DEAL BROTHA!!! :thumbsup::fistbump::bowdown:

    Yeah, it just started this morning so I'm not too worried at all about "deep grooves". I can only see the outside of the rotors right now though and didn't bother going underneath yet or "feel". I'll have to do that tomorrow.

    Thank you!!! :thumbsup::fistbump::cheers:

    What I'll likely do is just put the new pads on for now and then within a couple weeks, remove my rotors and take them in. I don't know if I can find a place that will do it same day, let alone go TO the shop. I just want to put on new pads before they really do start to groove deep.

    Rotors are cheap enough nowadays we dont turn them unless they are hard to come by. Not worth it. Once you get the grooves out you're too close to min thickness for us to be comfortable. Not worth a lawsuit when someone claims our brakes failed.

    I get it then. They're not grooving other than a rough sand paper finish, if you will.

    I guess, if that is the case in not being able to find a place to turn the rotors, I'll just put on the new pads and just be done with it then? :notsure: I've seen grooved rotors for sure and this is like a bad rash... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA :laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    I have to drive the rest of the week though, but luckily I don't have to drive very far for work and no freeways are involved so I can "ginger the brake pedal" when coming to a stop, which should help quite a bit.

    Anyways, I'll make that final decision when I start ripping apart the brakes soon.

    Thanks Ryan!!! :thumbsup::fistbump::bowdown:

    Well that's good to hear.
    Same as my mom and dad did.
    Guess I will have to just pic a day and a spot.
    I'll do some research.
    I like good scenery just as much as the next guy. But sometimes it not just guys that show up. Hmmmm

    Beer, friends and video games always work out real well...
