Ok... This may be a dumb question. But I try and keep my distance from transmissions.

Getting ready to attempt a shift kit install. Trans is not in the truck.

Any reason I should not flip the trans upside down so I can work on it?

20190208_171238.jpg Probably should have waited for the new rear shock relocate to be installed before selling the rear shocks and cutting the bed cage off but now I'm one step closer to a new rear end and having bed space again. Wish I hadn't sold the stock shocks because now I gotta drive with no rear shocks to get the new kit installed

Nah, out of all the vehicles I have owned (at least a dozen), only two have been automatic: 1966 Chevy Caprice (2-speed powerglide, power steering, NO POWER BRAKES WTF) and my 2003 double cab. For the traveling and exploring I do, automatic is way easier to deal with than a manual. I would consider doing a 5 speed swap from a Tundra/Land Cruiser before a 5-speed manual swap. Without double or triple transfer cases, automatic is way smoother on intermittent rocky/technical bits than manual.

I upgraded my speakers over a year and a half ago but kept the stock stereo. Today I installed a new SONY head unit and WOW. It's better than night and day. It's like the surface of the sun compared to the Mariana Trench.

Nice! Apple CarPlay? How do you like that? Been waiting for the prices to go down before pulling the trigger on one. Worth it?

So the Whiteline ones replace the whole thing, sleeve and bushings as a unit? And they are poly?

Yeah, Whiteline makes quality poly bushings and mounts. They're a press in replacement for our control arm bushings.

    Yep.

And pressing out the old bushings is super easy if you use the stock bottle jack:

My LCA's were replaced 2 years ago with rockauto LCA's. The bushings suck ass. A fellow TW member SAS'd his rig and gave me his OEM LCA's. Gonna replace the bushings with whiteline bushing and swap out my Rockauto ones. My cam bolts shouldn't be seized.

but yea, they were a pain in the dick to replace when I did them.

If I had a stock bottle jack. Truck didn't have one when I got it. Really need to buy one of those sometime.
