did you try to free troubleshooting yet? swap ballasts and bulbs to see if the issue moved? check grounds and the easy stuff. see if your stock harness failed too

I looked at them and played with the wires a bit.. Honestly, I have no idea what I am look at / for.. Hopefully I can find someone around here that knows a little about stuff like that that will help me out..

I talked to the guy I got them from and he said they are still under warranty so he is going to contact the place he got them from for me.. We will see how that goes, maybe I will get a new set up for them or something I dont know... I am sure I can get him to take a look at them for me..

Thanks so much for your help, when I find out what has been going on I will def. post it. I had the same issue yesterday but instead of it being the driver side it was the passenger side this time so something is obviously wrong. I have not had the problem with the fogs yet though from what I can tell. Just totally not cool to be driving around with no grille, a rejection sticker for inspection and some illegal headlights that I cant even count on. I need to get on the ball!

for the inspection, return to stock so you can pass. you don't happen to have day time lights do you? that messed with my hid's in my wrx. either way, if it happens to both of them, then the problem is common to both like wiring(grounds, harness). the odds of both ballasts going bad are slim.

i'm leaning towards the truck being at fault, not the lights. only a guess, i've seen similar issues like this in the past, and it always pointed to wiring.

I don't have my stock bulbs anymore... they were part of the trade

Umm.. daytime lights? I don't think so... well, yes, like parking lights?

Yeah, I agree that it is most likely wiring.. But I don't see what would be wrong with my truck I never had this issue before the HIDs... I am thinking the harnesses that were suggested before may fix the issue.. I will also have the guy look at the wiring tomorrow when I go to meet him..

    EDIT: Post # 1000 woot!

Yeah Jen, next time you get your truck inspected, def put in some regular halogen bulbs for both your heads and fogs. I'm sure my truck wouldnt pass that kind of inspection as well but the county I live in doesnt do inspections like that or even have smog checks.

Oh and the daytime running lights are the 2 front (not side) lights that stay on all the time when your engine is on. Like these on mine...

Yes, the DTRL's come on automatically when you start your engine unless your E brake is engaged. But other then that, they are always on unless you flip on your headlights.
