I added some weather stripping I bought at lowes to the actual cab where the door shuts and that seems to have fixed mine.

Is there an updated TSB for the 2018 MY? I experience this reed noise from my driver's side window in my 2018 at interstate speeds with a crosswind.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Dealer did a TSB for the cab noise on my 17 AC and it made it a different truck as far as noise levels. Details: What they did? The TSB number? Sorry for the lack of info --but the results were super good!

I was at dealer today for 3 year service and mentioned the noise issue at high speeds with strong crosswinds. Initially I received the expected response, “we’ll need to test drive to confirm the issue”. After the scheduled service was finished the tech said he would order the new seals without driving since today was calm.
Hopefully in a few days I’ll have the issue resolved, and within the 3 year free period.

Do the weathertech wind blockers for the front windows fix the problem? I have a 2015 Tacoma---issue was on driver's side. Toyota fixed it. Now problem is on passenger side under cross wind conditions---out of warranty. A recent trip to West Tx almost drove me crazy. If weathertech wind blockers work---will spring for a set.

    Am curious....?

I realize this is primarily (only?) for the buzz/reed noise. I have not noticed that during the months I've owned my 2017.

What I have heard, and at least one other here mentioned, is a slight 'ticking' type of noise from the seal, just about ear/head height on the driver's side. Seems to occur with bumps and such, as if there is a slight contact between the two halves of the seals that makes and brakes... or rubs.

It's pretty annoying on long trips, although I will admit not nearly as annoying as that buzz/reed sound heard in the videos.

So, my questions. Would the new/updated seals help with this?

How would I know if the currently installed seals are the updated ones, or not? Are they visibly different?

So I called a few days ago to confirm the parts were in and then made an appointment. After an hour in the waiting room I get the expected visit from the service advisor, telling me they ordered parts for a double cab. Oh well, I took their loaner Corolla home and hopefully late tomorrow I’ll have the issue resolved.
Sadly, this is the 4th time in 3 years they have not had the parts, after confirming beforehand the parts existed. Pathetic and comical service.

Both door seals have been replaced! Will it solve the problem? Only time will tell, especially since I’ve only noticed the sound a couple of times in 3 years.
I have already noticed the seals are bulkier, a gentle push on the doors will no longer close them. A little more effort is required.

I have this on my 2018. Wanted to install rain guards/vent visors though, which fixed the issue. I guess it didn’t really fix it, but the noise is gone now.

I took mine in and told them about the crosswind noise on tje passenger side. And the dealer said we have no way to test it. So sorry about your luck.

Oh, they have plenty of ways to test it but it sounds like they didn’t want to. They measured my gaps on both sides and compared it to trucks on the lot and checked with corporate to see if it was up to spec. They can also check for door deformities; check seals; and I have had them use an air hose to check to see how good it was sealed. The video linked below is kind of cheesy but it shows a guy checking his Tesla seals with an air hose.

Is this thread talking about the wind noise (NOT KAZOO) that sounds like it is barely open? Air rushing in back and forth? Blown speakerish sound/Closing and opening a vacuum really fast? Ha that was my best effort at describing the sound. Always sounds at ear level like everyone is saying. Went to dealer and had seals replaced and they added tubing. Still have the sound. Anyone have any solutions or other things to try? It is really starting to bug me.

If this helps anyone, I believe I narrowed it down to the side mirror. I closed it and the sound went away. It sounds like it is at ear level, but upon getting closer to the mirror while driving, I can hear it at side mirror height.

Got this crosswind issue myself with my new 2018 TRD OR, only on drivers side. Noticed residual water between seal and door frame at top of door drivers side. Opened passenger side no residual water between frame and seal. On the outside of the truck drivers side where back of front fender, door post and hood meet, I have a much larger gap and it looks like air could be slipping in and forcing its way along the top. I don’t have the “reed buzz” sound but plenty of cross wind noise, very noticeable on high wind days.

I have the wind noise in my 2017. I also had the same noise in a 2016 Rav 4. It is annoying and my dog likes to look out the window. I will try to get time to read this thread and decide what options I have.

Above is referring to crosswind noise I do not have the reed buzz.
