NW WA Meet / BS Thread

I do control system programming fortune 500 companies, department of defense, we do some smaller local jobs like this from time to time. Some of the cooler stuff we can actually talk about that we've done are the interactive wall at the space needle, the elevators at the empire state building, airbus's experience center.

My main task to do develop ui's and web app's for the customers to use to control these spaces.

They are custom made out of plexi (iirc) they only weigh 100lbs each and there are 6 of them in that pictures. Using 3d mapping of projectors to get the image perfect. Also have IR cameras in the ceiling and sensors so as you walk up to the wall the image can change/move based on your distance to/from the screen.

 

Not sure what you mean by DoN, never seen that term used. So just some random things, Airforce, Army, Navy.

No, but we tried to play battlefield on some flight simulators that were very hush hush

Honestly I don't think we've done any work for the navy. We do more army/airforce work, some things for the EPA for disaster command centers around the country.

 

And in an odd way that wouldnt suprise me....we can do some amazing things and have the breifings seemingly be ms paint

 

What's fun is when we get people that have a sense of humor. We did some command centers out at JBLM that when they are in NIPR and SIPR modes we have some like movie rating screens show up outside of the room. Did some things with the washington state seal but wont get into details When the fire alarm goes off all the screens in the room say "Run for your lives..fuckers"

 

Lol we have fun when its internal stuff. But the outside organizations generally dont care for anythung but serious. Least in breifings.

Which makes it fun...breifings are super dull and boring with everyone. Then go t do work and its jokes and fun making sure it all goes right

How can every prediction be so wrong? Bellingham school district declared early release for today. I passed q13 filming on the side of the road this morning and we ended up with no accumulation.

 

PNW is one of the hardest places to predict weather, not sure why scientifically. South hill has probably 6 inches and still goin.
