    Sure hope so. Hahahaha. It toes the line of utility and form I think. I’m taking this weekend to build my A pillar for the audio build but next weekend I’ll get the rack on.

    When I test fit everything to tweak the final brackets before I sent everything to powder the painted sides of the rack were .125” above the roof of the truck. Standing back looking at it you really can’t tell that it’s raised at all. It looks like it’s sitting on the roof.

    The sides bolt onto the actual basket part of the rack, cosmetic for sure but they are still .250” aluminum and they serve as a guard for wiring for rooftop lights, wiring , etc....

    I’ll post the final pics up when it’s all loaded up and ready to go. The sides will be coming back off next week to change from painted to powder coat. @mesojdm hooked me up with a company that makes a color that’s close to the OEM quicksand so just waiting on that to arrive. The color match sides can come off and the rack stays together and is still just as functional.

    I stalked the hell out of your Instagram last night. You make some AWESOME stuff for our trucks. So creative. I absolutely love your headliner storage solution. That is smart man. Really smart. I’d love to get the third brake light and the roof storage when whenever you have them available. Those are two of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time.

    @Relic_Micah,

    What are your plans for a front fairing? I didn't see anything describing that. Wind noise was always a bit of a detractor on my prior Gobi. Built like a tank, but made a bit of noise. With your CAD and detailed measurements, I'm guessing you could get one to fit the roofline pretty well. Perhaps something that was keyed (if a perfect fit), or slotted for adjustment if necessary.

    There is a front and back plate/fairing. The front one does hug the roof line, machined for BD lights. The rear is more of a bracket than anything else, flushes a BD chase light in it. The rear one stays level with the bars, low profile, allows future level connection to a bed solution.

    Those parts are still at powder and I think I get them back on Thursday. I’ll be sure to post them up.

    If it was "thick ass ice" why'd u break through? If you point loaded ice enough to break through with a tire,why WOULDN'T any old shovel do the same? genuinely asking.

    You really think a corner of my truck (~1300 lbs) breaking through the ice would mean a person and shovel could break through that ice with ease too? Genuinely asking. IIRC the ice was roughly 2” thick

    I was just considering a roof rack from Prinsu, but not in a rush... would love to see how this turns out and potentially order one if you decide to make them available for sale.

    My truck is all community parts thus far - been through nearly every part @mesojdm makes except tails (not for lack of trying). Its great to see and support innovative community members with skills.

    Point loading. It matters. That ~1300# is spread out over the surface area of the tire. A shovel is concentrated in one tiny area.
