all you guys that don't use the backup camera have me beat by along shot. I get in any other car and put it in reverse, my eyes go straight to the radio haha. I think the panoramic view is great. I'll never go without a backup camera again.

Plus in this truck it's tough to judge the back when parking so I'd rather not get a feel for that by bumping things.

Bought a front / rear anytime camera kit too, can't wait to install it in the spring

I guess this is my case, Nothing but a blank screen until I cleaned it. And for the one member who has nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself. It has been brutal weather here in Pa. and someone from San Diego can not relate to this. I get it but, when you are 69 years old with disability from the service, you will understand someday. Thanks everyone for your help, I do appreciate this forum, it has been a big help to me and saved me many miles back and forth to the dealer, if it was not from this forum and the way it has helped me. Soon I will be getting gas for the first time, Have a safe weekend guys...................Pete

You sir, need to stop right there...WTF!! How dare you look over your shoulder and to the left and right before backing up....f@%king punk. I bet you don't even have a Ring doorbell or a Amazon Alexa in your house...go back to the cave you came from. You should be banned for talk like this.

My wife has a Kia Soul and her Backup Cam is like HD clear. My 2019 sport is useable but does not compare to other BU cameras I have used and the camera has to be cleaned every couple of days for better picture. Not much of a complaint, but they could be better.

Also in Pa here. Last week with the brutal cold, and my dumbass going Ice fishing in -20, I had the blank screen that day. Seemed to be just the cold. But just about everyday I wipe the camera as I get into my truck. I have had to do that same thing on my added on Frame camera on my ridgeline, landcruiser, pilot and crv. I did find on the factory cameras on the Hondas , rainx did help, I just haven't tried in on the taco yet. I still use my mirrors also, but I agree that the added peace of mind and ability to judge distance is great, especially with children, dogs, and chickens in my yard. Just ignore the trolls and flamers, most of TW is great.

I would have to agree with you there, the camera on our trucks pales in comparison to others, but it works fine for the short amount of time I'm using it. I wonder how hard it would be to swap it for one with a better image? Would it be just the camera itself? Or the head unit as well?

I know someone at one time had a thread about finding a better camera, I can not remember if it turned out if it was camera or screen resolution that was the issue.

I'm not saying go search, I couldn't find it when I searched myself. (There is enough of that search for before asking b.s. on here at times)
I'll see if I can find it though

I think the problem is either, a) no one has found a good fix or b) they don't post the fix. Too many internet tough guys in those threads talking about it's a truck, who needs a backup camera, and get your eyes checked...
I'll keep looking also, though. I know many people have vision and mobility issues and a decent or better camera can help.

I read about somebody looking for a better camera on one of the other threads too...

something else to consider is the resolution on the screen.....better camera might not get us a better picture

That's my question, I'm sure there's a much better camera out there somewhere but will our screen/head unit support the resolution.

I know, how silly of me to use basic driving skills.... And to boot, I don't even need a camera to back up to a trailer. Imagine that!
